PIDC Celebrates Hispanic Heritage Month with Second Annual Elevate & Connect Business Resource Night - PIDC 09/23/2026

This , PIDC brought Philadelphia’s Hispanic and Latino business community together for the second annual Elevate & Connect: A Resource Night Celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month.

The event connected business owners with organizations offering financing, technical assistance, real estate services, and other resources to support business growth, while creating opportunities to build meaningful relationships and strengthen Philadelphia’s network of support.

Maryann McCann has been part of PIDC’s story for 45 years, and she’s had a front-row seat to Philadelphia’s transformation along the way.

Maryann joined PIDC in 1981 and has spent the past four and a half decades growing her career, taking on new roles, and contributing to some of Philadelphia’s most significant development projects.

Small-business owners: “no tax on tips” isn’t quite as simple as it sounds.

A new federal deduction allows eligible tipped workers to deduct up to $25,000 in tipped income from their federal taxable income—but there are important rules employers need to understand.

From distinguishing voluntary tips from mandatory service charges to properly tracking and reporting tips, employers have an important role to play.
