Somehow we are already heading into fall, and as I look back at how quickly this year has moved, I realized I never shared one of my favorite experiences from this spring.

In April, I attended my first conference, and the timing could not have been better. It came right on the heels of the WIPA Gala and an incredibly busy start to the year. Getting away for a few days, having the opportunity to slow down, reset and connect was exactly what I needed.

The combination of the setting, the people and the timing made the whole experience really special for me. Life moves FAST (especially in this industry!), and as we head into another busy fall season, it feels like a good reminder to make room for experiences like this along the way.

A very overdue thank you to the team for such a wonderful few days. So happy I finally experienced Kinetic for myself, and I definitely hope to be back. 🤍

Frequently, we have to design around things we can't change in a venue. There's no thinking outside the box when the box is literally the building! But sometimes, with a little creative problem-solving, we can bend the floor plan to our will.⁠

For this year's WIPA gala, we created a custom stage designed to cover the small fountain that greets visitors near the main entrance. By covering this feature, we were able to welcome guests with a live performer, an unexpected and exciting moment to start the event journey!⁠

We often talk about an event's ability to transport guests to another place, and this party took that goal to another level! Air-travel-themed transitions to guests to different areas of the event, each designed after a different city. We absolutely loved contributing the lighting design to this really fun concept!⁠

Talk about red hot! This incredible holiday party at Ocean Casino Resort in Atlantic City, designed and planned by our talented friends at Kyle Michelle Weddings + Events, was an absolute stunner. Everything was considered, from the storytelling and entertainment to the decor, down to the tiniest details. ⁠

Our contributions: We loved designing an extra-large truss structure, as well as the staging and scenic design, including platforms for the performers. We also created the custom light fixtures over the bar and brought lots (and lots) of red draping. ❤️‍🔥🍸️⁠
