You survived seizures, a heart murmur, small cell intestinal cancer, and cancer in your leg—but kidney disease finally caught up.

I will miss your screaming day and night; you always had so much to say.

My heart is broken. I don’t like this new normal.

Very last minute (like… late last night) my friend and someone I deeply admire, , asked me to jump in and moderate “Being a Person of Color on Broadway” at 🎭

I had the honor of sharing space with , Cyrus, and —three artists who are not just talking about change, but actively shaping it.

I spent 35 years as an actor, and the challenges I faced growing up—and well into adulthood—are still painfully relevant today. Being a person of color in this industry often means working 10x harder than our white peers, while navigating microaggressions, blatant racism, and systemic gatekeeping.

This conversation only scratched the surface—but it was necessary. If we want to see our stories told and our faces represented on stage, we have to be brave enough to speak our truth and challenge the narratives that keep so many talented POC artists from thriving.
