Come out on Saturday, September 26th, at 9 a.m. as we cut the ribbon to celebrate the completion of the playground at Happy Hollow Recreation Center!

This milestone represents $650,000 of a total $6 million renovation at Happy Hollow. The new playground doesn't just include new equipment but also includes new pavement, lighting, security, and ADA accessibility features to ensure that everyone in the community will have access.

A ribbon-cutting for the entire recreation center will happen early next year!

We’re breaking ground on a major $21.7 million transformation of McPherson Square Library and Park as we celebrate Mayor Cherelle L. Parker’s 1,000th day in office!

This project will transform one of Kensington’s most important community spaces, with major improvements to both the library and surrounding park.

Construction is moving fast at Cecil B. Moore Rec!

This $20 million project will be a brand-new, 15,000-square-foot recreation center complete with a basketball gym, boxing gym, computer lab, multi-purpose rooms, upgraded restrooms, and a new auditorium! Outside, it will have a refinished basketball court, expanded green space, improved accessibility and stormwater infrastructure, new security cameras and site lighting, accessible connections throughout the site, and a new gathering space.

Back in August, we cut the ribbon at Francis J. Myers Recreation Center, celebrating the completion of a $27 million renovation!

Not only was it a great event, but it was also a great project that included countless meetings with community members to ensure they got a recreation center they deserved.

Big things are happening at McPherson Library and Park!

We’re excited to celebrate an important new chapter for this community space, and we hope you’ll join us on Friday, September 18th!

Beginning today, September 14, 2026, McPherson Library will temporarily close as teams begin needed repairs and additional renovations. Library services and programming will continue at a new location, and we’ll share those details soon.

Yesterday, six Philadelphians received certificates after completing our Ironworker Academy. They were recognized by Managing Director Carlton Williams for their hard work and dedication throughout the program, with encouragement to one day see them in high places, literally helping build the future of Philadelphia.

Through our partnership with the Ironworkers Union, participants gained hands-on training in the fundamentals of ironwork while also developing the professional skills needed to succeed in the trades.

To date, more than 213 individuals have completed Rebuild's skilled trades training programs, with many moving on to union apprenticeships or full-time careers in their trade.

A big thank you to all of the instructors, families, and friends who supported all of the graduates throughout the process!

Today, six Philadelphians will be graduating from our Ironworker Academy. Held in partnership with the Ironworkers Unions, the program offers hands-on training and the opportunity to talk with current Ironworkers about their experience.
