A few Wallace Middle School students recently had the chance to turn the questions on Superintendent Dr. Ariel Lajara for a quick Q&A with Dr. A (Lajara)!
They asked about his background, what brought him to Vineland Public Schools, and more. Check out their conversation and hear what he had to say!

Real leadership is about accountability, partnership, and moving forward together. We sit down, we align, and we set the standard. Committed to our students every single day.
Day 90 of the superintendency, walking in right through the energy of our cheerleaders. The standard doesn’t drop, and neither do we. Let’s keep moving forward!

What an honor to be with absolute royalty in Vineland athletics. Standing with legendary coach John Casadia, who built our swim program from the ground up starting in 1973.
His legacy at VHS is unmatched: a state record of 489 wins and six state championships, including our historic first ever girls state title in any sport in 1996 and a dominant four year championship run after that! Living legend!

As we close out the second week of Hispanic Heritage Month, we continue celebrating the stories, cultures, and experiences that shape our Vineland Public Schools community.
For Superintendent Dr. Ariel Lajara, his journey from the Dominican Republic to leading Vineland Public Schools is a reminder of the power of opportunity, perseverance, and believing in every child’s potential. His story is one of many that reflect the rich heritage represented throughout our schools and community.
We’re proud to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month and the people whose experiences continue to inspire the next generation. 🇩🇴

Vineland Public Schools held its first Esports Advisory Committee meeting yesterday as the district begins exploring opportunities to bring esports to our students.
The group discussed the possibility of introducing esports at the club level, with opportunities for the program to grow in the future. The district is also exploring ways to work with the City of Vineland and Vineland Public Library, which currently offers its own esports and gaming program for the community.
We’re looking forward to continuing the conversation and learning more about how esports could create new opportunities for VPS students.

Empowering our next generation of leaders! 🌟
On Sept 23–24, Peer Group Connection (PGC) hosted its annual retreat at the Landis Offices. PGC eases the middle school transition through peer mentoring, team building, and social-emotional learning.
Proud of our students and mentors building a stronger, more connected community!

Two cousins, two districts, and roots planted deep. From grinding side by side as assistant superintendents to leading our own districts, the mission has always been about transforming outcomes for our students.
Great catching up with my cousin Dr. Renny Lajara, Superintendent of Bethlehem Area School District. When you share family history and the trenches of urban education, the work hits different!
