An inheritance almost never arrives without grief attached to it. It is completely normal to feel unsure, overwhelmed, or even guilty about money that showed up during one of the hardest chapters of your life.
There is no version of this where you are supposed to have it all figured out right away.
There is a persistent myth that inherited money needs to be invested or deployed quickly. It does not. If a bank or advisor is pushing you to decide something fast, that pace is about their timeline, not a requirement of yours.
📌 Fahmin Fardous, CFP®, walks through what to do in the first 90 days, from getting oriented to learning the rules that apply to what you received.

💡 Most people spend decades doing the right things: saving consistently, staying invested, not panicking when markets dip.
What fewer people plan for is what happens when the market drops at exactly the wrong moment, right after you retire.
When you’re still working, a bad year in the market is a temporary setback.
Your portfolio has time to recover before you need the money. But when you’re drawing down savings to cover living expenses, a loss early in retirement can leave a lasting impact even after the market fully recovers. The math doesn’t work the same way in reverse. 📉
This is one of the most overlooked risks in retirement planning, and one of the most important to understand before you get there.
If you’re within 10 years of retirement or already there, this one is worth your time!

💔 Divorce doesn't wait for you to feel ready.
Your income, your home, your accounts, your taxes- they all shift at once, often in the same season. It's a lot to carry, and it's normal not to know where to start.
A few financial moves matter early, before a court deadline or an old joint account makes the decision for you.

A good attorney handles the legal side. A financial advisor helps you see what a settlement actually means for your future, not just what it looks like on paper today. 🤝

💸 When business owners sell, the tax bill can be the biggest surprise of the transaction. But there are strategies to plan around it.
Jesse Wideman Jr., CFP®, CEPA® was recently featured in a The Philadelphia Inquirer article by Gene Marks, sharing his perspective on donor-advised funds (DAFs) as a powerful tool for business owners facing a high-income sale year:
"A donor-advised fund lets them capture the charitable deduction in that high-tax year while distributing the money to charities over many years."
If you're thinking about an eventual exit, or are already in conversations, tax strategy needs to be part of the plan before you close, not after.

🚀 We talk about generating $1 billion in wealth. That’s not a scoreboard; it’s a shift in gravity.
Wealth isn’t built by income alone. It’s built by access: to capital, to networks, to the kind of advice that understands what you’re actually up against. For too long, that access has been uneven, not by accident, but by design.
When we hit that goal, it won’t just show up on a statement. It will show up in neighborhoods, in boardrooms, in who gets to say yes to opportunity.✨

Women's Retirement Security Day exists because the gap is real, and it isn't closing on its own.
On average, women retire with significantly less saved than men.
The pay gap is part of it, as is time out of the workforce to raise children or care for aging parents and a longer life expectancy that stretches retirement dollars further.
What that adds up to is a retirement gap that shows up in real ways: smaller Social Security checks, less time for compounding to work, and more years of expenses to fund with less capital to fund them.
The gap is closable, especially when you understand exactly where it comes from and what levers actually move it. 🚀
If you're a woman in your 40s or 50s thinking about what the next chapter looks like, this is the conversation to be having right now.

MAGA Accounts, officially called Money Account for Growth and Advancement accounts, are a new type of savings vehicle making its way through legislation, and parents have a lot of questions.
What makes them different from a 529 or a Roth IRA? Who qualifies? And is the flexibility actually as useful as it sounds?

💡 The first half of 2026 has been anything but quiet, and the second half is shaping up to be just as consequential.
AI capital spending is reshaping market leadership. Inflation is proving stickier than expected. The Fed is on hold. And beneath a market that keeps climbing, rotation is quietly underway, with value, dividends, and a broader set of AI beneficiaries starting to share the spotlight with last year's mega-cap leaders.
So where does that leave investors heading into H2? 🧐
We're hosting our Mid-Year Outlook webinar on July 8th at 12:00 PM ET, and we'd love for you to join us. Andrew Tudor, CFP®, CAP and Jason Ray will walk through the key themes driving markets right now and what they mean for portfolio positioning in the months ahead.
🚀 This is a conversation worth having. Register through the link in bio.

Fahmin Fardous was recently featured in Financial Planning Magazine, speaking to one of the most consequential questions in estate planning: IRA or trust, and when does it actually matter?
Her take:
"An IRA is a savings-and-tax vehicle. A trust is a control-and-distribution vehicle."
Simple framing. Real stakes.
The Secure Act changed the rules for inherited IRAs significantly, and the One Big Beautiful Bill Act adds more complexity on top of that. Fahmin broke down what families, especially those navigating wealth for the first time, need to understand before making these decisions.
Thank you to Tobias Salinger for putting together such a thorough, accessible piece on a topic that too often gets buried in jargon.
