Hispanic Heritage Month runs through mid October, and it's worth pausing on what real representation actually looks like in hiring, not just in the month it gets a hashtag.
Representation isn't solved by putting a hashtag over October and calling it done. It's built one relationship at a time: showing up in more than the same three places every search, and treating a candidate's background as part of what makes them the right fit, not an afterthought.
That's the kind of search we try to run every day of the year, not just this one.

Ever sit in a Monday standup and just feel it? Nobody says anything is wrong, but the room feels different: quieter, flatter, less back and forth than it used to be. That's usually morale, not a scheduling problem.
It won't show up in an engagement survey until it's already cost you something: slower responses to messages, less small talk before meetings start, fewer people staying an extra five minutes to help a colleague finish something.
The good news is morale is one of the more fixable problems in a workplace, once you know where to look. We covered the early signs and what to do about them. Link in bio.

Every few months there's a new headline about which jobs AI is about to replace. Less gets written about which ones it's actually reinforcing.
The roles holding up best share a pattern: judgment calls that require context, relationships that took years to build, work where the stakes of getting it wrong are high enough that a human needs to be accountable for the outcome.
We broke down which careers are built to last through this shift, and why. Link in bio.

Burnout rarely shows up as a dramatic resignation. It shows up as a slightly later start time, a project that used to get finished early now finishing exactly on time, a person who used to speak up in meetings going quiet.
By the time it's obvious, it's usually been building for months. Addressing it early is a lot cheaper than replacing the person it eventually costs you.
We put together a practical guide to recognizing the signs before they turn into a resignation letter. Link in bio.

Executive job searches used to run almost entirely on relationships built over decades. That part hasn't changed. What's changed is how much groundwork AI tools can now do before that relationship ever gets tested.
Researching a company's leadership shifts, tracking a target list of firms, prepping for interviews with role specific scenarios. The tools got a lot better this year, and the executives using them well are moving faster than the ones who aren't.
We covered how to actually put this to work in your search. Link in bio.

Your open role has been live for six weeks. Forty applicants in the tracker. Still no one you'd actually want to hire.
The problem probably isn't your job posting. Roughly 80 percent of the workforce isn't actively job hunting at any given moment, which means your best candidate for that role likely isn't applying anywhere at all.
We wrote about what it actually takes to reach the passive network, and why relationships beat job boards every time. Link in bio.

Twenty-five years ago today, the world changed in a single morning.
Patriot Day asks us to pause: for the lives lost, for the first responders who ran toward danger instead of away from it, and for the resilience of a country that rebuilt in the years that followed.
At firstPRO, our days are usually spent helping people and companies move forward. Today isn't about that. It's about remembrance.
To the first responders, service members, and families who carry this day differently than the rest of us: we see you, and we remember.

You got the promotion. Congratulations, genuinely. Now comes the part almost nobody warns you about.
Management isn't a bigger version of your old job. It's a different job, with a different calendar, different relationships, and a different set of skills that actually get rewarded. The professionals who thrive in year one aren't the ones who were best at their last role. They're the ones who went in knowing the job itself had changed.
We put together a full breakdown of what changes, what to expect from former peers, and how to structure your first 90 days. Link in bio.

Over-rehearsed answers for the interview have a tell. The pacing gets weirdly even, the phrasing sounds memorized, and a good interviewer notices immediately.
Instead of scripting every response word for word, prep three or four specific stories you can adapt. Know the numbers behind your biggest win. Know exactly what went wrong on your hardest project and what you'd do differently now. That's the material that actually lands, because it sounds like you talking, not a monologue you practiced in the mirror.
Confidence comes from knowing your material, not memorizing your delivery.

Nobody quits over one bad Tuesday. They quit because six months of forgettable Tuesdays finally added up, and nobody said anything until the two weeks notice landed on your desk.
Retention isn't really a perks problem. It's an attention problem. Most people who leave give signals long before they give notice: less input in meetings, no interest in new projects, a sudden focus on clocking exactly 40 hours and not a minute more.
We broke down five concrete steps for catching this earlier and building a team that actually wants to stay. Read the full breakdown at the link.
