Recently, I introduced two bills into the House, designed to uphold equal opportunities across Pennsylvania’s institutions.

House Bill 2767 would establish an Equal Opportunity Audit program for contractors, grant recipients, and beneficiaries of tax incentives in Pennsylvania, providing a framework for these entities to demonstrate genuine commitment to equal opportunity. House Bill 2776, also known as the Promoting Liberty & Upholding Rights of All Learners (PLURAL) Act, would make clear that instruction remains academically free from endorsement or denigration of any belief system.

As the House heads into its Fall session days, I urge my colleagues to take up these crucial pieces of legislation, as they serve as pathways for greater equity across the commonwealth.

I’m proud to announce that $750,000 in funding from the state’s Local Share Account program will go toward an elevator renovation project at the Sedgwick Theater! This theater has been in the lives of Philadelphians for generations, and this funding will keep this treasure of the district thriving as a creative environment.
