COASTAL FLOODING/EROSION WILL HAPPEN
Many are jumping on the potential Coastal Storm for the weekend, but what is more important right now is the immediate concern for our friends at the shore.
For the next several rounds of high tide, we expect minor to moderate flooding. It is the persistent NE wind piling up the water and not allowing it to fully drain during low tide. The water will be a washing machine all week, and erosion is an adding issue.
For us inland, it is breezy, cool, but turning brighter the next couple days.
The weekend will need watching to see how close the developing coastal storm gets and how many impacts it will have on the shore and inland. Stay tuned for that one.
SUMMER IS OVER...
and to think, the next time the sun sets at 7pm or later is March 14th!
WATCHING THE COAST
It is that time of year Coastal Storms or Nor'easters start to sneak into our lives. There will be a storm developing later this week, but where it tracks is still uncertain. No matter, it will be a cool, cloudy, at times damp week with temperatures running nearly 10 degrees below average.
The storm's closest approach would be Friday and Saturday with the coast possibly taking the brunt of the rain and wind. Coastal flooding and beach erosion is a concern given we have a full moon this weekend.
We will be tracking this all week for you! Until then have the umbrellas at the ready tomorrow morning as you head to work and school
JEWISH APPLE CAKE WITH A TWIST
Found a recipe and then decided to add homemade apple butter in the mix, along with butterscotch chips and spiced rum. Then I topped it off with a quick confectioners sugar caramel sauce.
I’m pushing to get Alicia Vitarelli over here for another episode of the dish. We could make this or I could give you a couple of other options and have you vote.

LUCKY OR STUPID….
I am notorious for leaving my wallet in strange places, but this takes the cake. On my way back to work, I stopped to get gas and used my Apple Pay phone to pay at the pump, but I guess I put my wallet in the door handle? Got to work and realized I couldn’t find my wallet!!!!! Searched the car all inside, went around to open up the passenger side door and here it sits. No idea how it survived the drive to work given my door handles close in once I drive over 10 miles an hour.
I think I need sleep…

WEEK IN REVIEW
It’s been a fun and busy week. We visited Linvilla Orchards to check out what’s going on at the farm with our annual Labor Day weekend excursion with farmer Norm. Went home and made an apple pie.
I won tickets to the Philadelphia Union game at work and brought Hannah and one of her friends and her dad. We won 5-0 and got to meet most players including the Sullivan brothers.
Cooper was neutered and doing well. I decorated the outdoors and indoors of the home for fall .
Many of us also celebrated Cecily with her incredible award at the crystal tea room honoring her 30 years of action news with Global Philadelphia Association.
25TH ANNIVERSARY
We still pray for those families affected, and we still remember where we were when it happened.
I was in a crawlspace basement installing insulation for a home we were building with Habitat for Humanity .
