MANY MILESTONES
The last four days have been extremely busy! We celebrated my father-in-law‘s 95th birthday! I made him his favorite dessert, strawberry shortcake. Also made a Samoa cake.
We also celebrated Hannah‘s graduation from elementary school and Jacob‘s baseball team for making it to the finals!
Life is about fun, family, and being there in the moment of it all.

Heads up that Thursday and Friday will be Alert Days with a heat index over 100 in the afternoons and record highs in the mid 90s.
Heat is the #1 Weather Related Killer in the country, more deaths than any other weather element! Always take heat seriously and stay as cool as you can. When the human body overheats, it is VERY hard to dial it back.
In addition, we will be watching strong to severe storms both afternoons and evenings.

ALWAYS AN HONOR...
On Sunday, I once again hosted and emceed the annual Philadelphia Gay News Stonewall Awards Brunch that recognizes remarkable people, businesses, and allies that are creating welcoming, safe spaces for ALL, and making sure the future is bright and beautiful for LGBTQ+ Americans.
The event is always inspiring and leaves me with hope and happiness. Former President Joe Biden made a surprise appearance leaving the room on cloud 9. His presence was huge, his generosity gracious to those he encountered, and his speech unforgetting. He shared so much including these words for the youth "I want to say to all the young people, just be you, be who you are. You’re loved. You’re loved by more and more people.”
Some have said to me "we don't need pride anymore, you have ALL the rights the rest of us have." I am here to tell you, PRIDE is more than just a parade, a party, rainbow flags. Right now we are tracking 530 anti-LGBTQ bills in the country. It was only a decade ago that we could legally marry. We are out there celebrating the win and sharing our passion to remain equal. Staying visible is important to so many, especially the youth. I mean, I know many groups out there waving a flag and wearing hats and t-shirt's to make a statement. So to those uttering words that we need to stop, let's have an educated chat to learn more.
