Pain has a way of making us look for one big culprit. We blame an old injury, arthritis, poor posture, or simply getting older. While those factors matter, pain rarely results from a single issue. Instead, it's often influenced by dozens of small habits we practice throughout the day, many of which seem completely unrelated to our muscles and joints.
Which of these habits do you find yourself doing most often?
I truly hope everyone experiences a road trip at least once in their life. I'm not talking about a race from Point A to Point B. I mean a drive through scenic backroads, with snacks, a car with plenty of room to stretch out, a playlist full of throwbacks, and a few good friends. It's one of those overlooked experiences that stays with you.
If you catch yourself feeling guilty for not being “productive” while traveling, remember: Rest isn’t laziness. It’s how you recharge and build the capacity to show up fully tomorrow.

You are more than a number in this space.

The first few weeks after surgery are not simply a waiting period. They are an opportunity to actively support the systems responsible for recovery. As research continues to evolve, one message is becoming increasingly clear: lymphatic drainage is emerging as an important part of post-operative care.

The new changes that I’d like to share with you will affect how Myofascial Release sessions are booked, primarily for new clients. As a reminder, a "new client" is anyone who has not had a session with me within the past 12 months.
The Change
For new clients only, Myofascial Release will no longer be combined with Integrated Massage sessions. Instead, it will be offered as a standalone service.
Can I book a myofascial release session and then book an integrated session for the next?
Yes.
How Does This Affect Existing Clients?
If you're coming in specifically for Myofascial Release, you need to book the 60-minute Myofascial Release session.
When do these changes go into effect?
The updates take effect immediately, but don't worry, if you've already booked an appointment as of June 3, 2026, your session will be honored as originally scheduled. The changes only apply to appointments booked after June 3, 2026.
I appreciate your patience as everyone adjusts to these changes. I'm sure there will be a few hiccups during the transition, but we'll figure them out together.
Other information…
- Flex-pay Sessions are still available for existing clients.
- Membership options are available for both Integrated and Lymphatic Drainage services.

Your body rarely wakes up one day and randomly decides to hurt. More often, it has simply reached its limit tolerating repetitive stress without enough recovery, movement variability, or support.

Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) uses slow, precise techniques to encourage healthy fluid movement and support the body’s natural recovery process. Originally used to help breast cancer patients manage swelling after surgery, MLD is now commonly integrated into cosmetic and medical recovery care as well.
Generally, professionals recommend MLD 2–3 times weekly during the first few weeks of healing to help manage swelling, improve comfort, and support tissue mobility. Recovery from procedures can take several months, and during that time, proper fluid movement matters more than most people realize.
When that fluid lingers too long, tissue can begin to feel tight, firm, or uneven beneath the skin. This is referred to as fibrosis. Fibrosis is a condition in which tissue becomes hardened and less mobile; it is a common issue of post-surgical recovery. Fortunately, the likelihood of developing the condition can be reduced through lymphatic drainage and the use of compression garments.
Remember, recovery is a process, not a race. Supporting your lymphatic system during this phase can help the body recover more comfortably while promoting softer, healthier tissue over time.

Consistency isn't about doing more. It's about showing up regularly enough that change becomes inevitable.

Performance conversations tend to revolve around how hard you worked, how often you showed up, and whether you pushed past your limits. The truth is, your output and longevity are only as good as your recovery.
Keys for better load management:
Stress Is Cumulative
Sudden Increase in Training Load = Risk
Balance Wins (The solution isn’t simply doing less)
You’re not just training your body. You’re managing a dynamic interplay between stress and recovery. The more aware you are of this balance, the better you can stay in the zone where performance improves, recovery keeps up, and your body doesn’t have to fight just to maintain.
