If you were in the room last night, thank you. What you brought mattered.

If you weren't, there's something available right now specifically for the RDs on my email list.

Not on the list yet? Two free ways in:

🌱 The Simple Session Framework — link in bio
🌱 From Struggle to Strength — link in bio

Both are free. Both were built for exactly the kind of RD who showed up tonight.

Come find us. 🤍

In a world of AI and virtual nutrition companies, the solo practitioner can feel like they need to be worried about having a job tomorrow. But, here is the thing, folks want someone who knows their story, their concerns, their unique community and can help them bridge from knowing to doing. The RD who stands grounded in her knowledge, her perspective and her own lived experience is standing at the edge of growing market. The key is to not get burned out and quit. The key is to get support from an experienced mentor. DM me for deets on my free webinar coming July 28 th. Let’s get you feeling confident rather than afraid.

From years of sitting with people in the murky middle of change and developing an almost instinctive sense for what a specific person needs in a specific session.

No dataset is large enough to replicate it.

And here's what I want newer RDs to hear clearly: the anxiety about AI is understandable, but it's pointed in the wrong direction.

The dietitians who will struggle in an AI-adjacent landscape are the ones who have been providing what AI can provide — information, meal plans, generic guidance — without building the relational depth that AI cannot touch.

The ones who will thrive are the ones who know exactly what they offer that no tool can match. And who build their practice around that from the beginning.

That capacity — to stay present, to hold complexity, to be a Navigator instead of a Fixer — is exactly what I'm opening a room to work on this July.

I understand why the question is there. The tools are getting more sophisticated. The chatbots are getting more conversational. And if you've spent years building a practice around something you believe in deeply, the idea that an algorithm might be able to approximate it is — at minimum — unsettling.

AI is genuinely good at some things dietitians currently spend a lot of time doing. And completely incapable of the thing that actually makes this work work.

Because the thing that changes behavior isn't information. It never was.

It's relationship. It's presence. It's the specific, irreducible experience of being witnessed by another human being who is also, themselves, navigating this.

That is not a feature that can be added to a language model.

I also wrote about what this means practically — and why understanding AI's actual role gives newer RDs a significant advantage in building a practice that lasts.

Here's what I've noticed after 25 years in this work:

The waiting doesn't end with another certification. It ends with reflection.

Specifically, the kind of reflection that helps you look honestly at what's actually happening in the room. Not the theory. The reality. The moment you defaulted to fixing when curiosity would have served better. The silence that made you reach for one more handout. The client request that landed in your body before it landed in your mind.

Those patterns aren't evidence that you're failing. They're information. And information you can actually work with.

From Struggle to Strength is a free reflection tool I built for weight-inclusive RDs who are tired of performing confidence and ready to start building the real thing. Link in bio.

It's not a lecture or a checklist of everything you're doing wrong.

It's a mirror. A quiet space to see yourself. Your reactions, your defaults, your values — more clearly and more compassionately than the inside of your head usually allows.

For a long time, I lived in a body that fit the expectations. And even back then if you had asked me how I felt about my body, I’d probably say “eh it’s fine” or “I don’t like my____”.

When my body stopped responding the way it used to—after my third C-section, and then over the years that followed—it forced me to confront something I hadn’t really had to before.

Not how to change my body.

But how to exist in it.

Over 20 years, my body has only gotten bigger. And at every stage, I’ve had moments of discomfort, resistance, and relearning.

What surprised me most is this: I didn’t love my body when it was smaller and my body confidence didn’t automatically get worse in a bigger one.

Body image isn’t as simple as size. It’s shaped by beliefs, expectations, identity, and the stories we’ve internalized for years.

And for me, that’s been the real work—separating my worth, my identity, and even my credibility as a dietitian… from the size of my body.

Still a work in progress. Probably always will be.

If this resonates, I’d love to hear your story! What has your relationship with your body taught you over time?

Not a script or a protocol that flattens every session into the same shape.

Just a grounded structure that gives your clinical instincts somewhere to land, so you can stop managing the architecture of the hour and start being present with the person in front of you.

It covers the moments that actually matter:
— Preparing yourself before the session starts
— Opening with safety and direction
— Staying present when things get complex
— Knowing when and how to offer an intervention
— Closing in a way that feels complete
— Processing afterward
— for you, not just your client

It's free. If you're a newer RD who finds yourself reinventing the wheel every session, it's worth having in your back pocket. Link in bio.

It accumulates in the body. It follows you to bed. It creates a kind of ambient heaviness in your home that neither you nor your partner can quite name — only feel.

What most RDs are actually searching for isn't traditional supervision. It's intimacy without judgment. A small, safe circle of people who understand the specific weight of this work and won't flinch when you admit the session didn't go the way you planned.

That space exists. Most of us have just stopped believing we deserve it.

I'm writing about what real clinical processing looks like — and what it costs when we keep using the wrong container.

The moment we default to fixing. The silence that makes us reach for one more handout. The client’s request that lands in our body before it lands in our mind.

No certification closes that gap. Reflection does.

From Struggle to Strength is a free resource (link in bio) I built for weight-inclusive RDs who are tired of performing confidence and ready to start building the real thing. It’s not a lecture. It’s a space to identify the patterns that make sessions feel disconnected, to sit with your reactions without judgment, and to start trusting what’s already there.

Because you don’t need to know everything to be effective.
You just need to start seeing yourself more clearly.
