SAFE Project is committed to contributing in a tangible way to overcoming the addiction epidemic. SAFE Project stands for Stop the Addiction Fatality Epidemic.
Our mission is to contribute, in a tangible way, to overcoming the addiction epidemic in the United States. Using a collaborative, multi-pronged and non-partisan approach, our key initiatives focus on SAFE Campuses, SAFE Communities, SAFE Veterans and SAFE Workplaces. We also reach young people through SAFE Choices and build our network through SAFE Volunteers. Our initiatives are fueled by six lines of operation: public awareness, full-spectrum prevention, prescriptions and medical response, law enforcement and criminal justice, treatment and recovery, and family outreach and support. Thanks to the generosity of our donors and the support from our volunteers, SAFE Project turns hope into action through transformative programs, training, and technical assistance.

Last week, SAFE Project CEO Jeff Horwitz attended the Echoes of Resilience event hosted by The Tug McGraw Foundation in partnership with Phillies Charities, Inc. ✨
The event featured a panel with SAFE Project founder Admiral James "Sandy" Winnefeld, former Vice Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. He was joined by two retired Navy SEALs from DEVGRU, SEAL Team 3, and SEAL Team 7, who were among the first boots on the ground following 9/11.
Thank you to everyone who made the event such a success, to all for an inspiring day, and for reminding us that resiliency is our superpower during challenging moments.
Peers and individuals with lived experience can offer understanding through example, non-judgment, and non-clinical guidance.

She also serves as Deputy Director for Treatment & Prevention for the Washington/Baltimore HIDTA and Executive Director of the Center for Advancing Prevention Excellence at the University of Baltimore.
