"Kate is a refreshing reminder of the power that is created when well-crafted music is coupled with the ability to captivate a live audience. Big things for Kate."
- Jordan Belkin, HMR Live
Kate, who has been performing in front of audiences since she was 9, is no stranger to the stage. As a pre-teen, her voice carried her to multiple musical theater opportunities from performances with Debbie Gibson at the Merriam Theater in Philadelphia, to the Philadelphia Thanksgiving Day Parade. Throughout her adolescence, Kate continued to develop her piano and vocal skills while writing original music and performing in local showcases. In college, Kate was a founding member of the band Drive Thru Parking, where she fell in love with the recording process. The group toured the northeast for several years, including a performance at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia in January of 2010. After 5 years with the band, Kate felt it was time to pursue her solo career in New York City and she and the band parted ways. While Kate was transporting her large keyboard to and from rehearsals and performances, she was also juggling a rigorous coursload at the University of Pennsylvania, earning her Master’s in Soclal Work. As one who continues to work towards raising awareness of emotional and mental health issues, Kate is always looking for opportunities to merge her love of music with the pursuit of social good. “I believe music, at it’s core, is emotional. It’s not only a platform for raising awareness about important social issues, but music itself can offer healing, expression and create genuine connections that help us feel less isolated and alone.”
Within just one year on the NYC music scene, Kate performed at some of New York’s most famous music venues including The Bitter End, Rockwood Music Hall, and Pianos, and was interviewed on several local radio programs including “Mind Over Music” hosted by Cari Cole. In this short time Kate also landed her first TV performance on The Gimme Mo Show hosted by “High School Musical’s” Monique Coleman and earned two nominations in the 2013 JAM Awards.

This super fun musical carnival/church service of Mad Dogs and Englishmen reconvenes tonight at State Theatre . This celebration of the music of Joe Cocker and Leon Russel (and many other amazing. Songs of the 60s) that Remember Jones has put together is such a joy to be a part of and I love getting to share that joy with everyone on stage and in the audience.
If you are in the area for any these shows over the next two weeks, I promise, you will thank yourself for coming to be part of this musical magic.

- I am so excited to share the night with fellow musical-mama Lucy Isabel

I had the sweetest Birthday Weekend! 🎂🥳🥂
On Friday I got to play a dreamy show The Fallser Club opening up for the wonderfully talented and kind hearted Rebecca Loebe . I admire her so much as an artist, so this was such a treat. I love singing no matter where I am, but the real magic happens when I get to connect with others through music, so thank you so much to everyone who came out to make that magic.
Saturday felt like the kind of birthday party I might have had when I was 8, and honestly, what could be better than that? We say Toy Story 5 (loved it!) with the kiddos and got ice cream Sundaes 🍨
Sunday the celebration continued when Joey and I got to have a long overdue date night, exploring all the flavors of an enchanting Uzbekistan restaurant! UZBEKISTAN RESTAURANT | PHILADELPHIA | CENTRAL ASIAN CUISINE
And the kids even took naps at the same time so I could float in the pool.
So many simple, beautiful moments of joy, and I couldn't imagine a better way to celebrate another completed loop around the sun. It's good to be here. 😊
In honor of me opening for Rebecca Loebe tomorrow night The Fallser Club I decided to do a short cover of her new single "Queen Mary ll"...but as a waltz!
What do you think?
Don't worry, I'm sure she will play her version tomorrow.
Did I mention it's also the day before my birthday?? 🎂🥳 I hope you can come celebrate with me and we can enjoy some good company and great music together!
Today is the last day to save money by buying in advance, so hop to it!

These photos are from last month when I had the pleasure of opening up for Valentina Sounds at The Fallser Club in East Falls Philadelphia. Well, guess what? I will be back at the Fallser Club on June 26 (two weeks away) opening for the wonderfully talented and skilled singer-songwriter Rebecca Loebe (!!)
Rebecca Loebe's voice is remarkable (in the truest sense of the word) and her songwriting is too-notch. And she just brings so much heart to her music, it's really inspiring.
I have been a fan of hers for awhile now, so it is really an honor to get to be a part of this show. I hope you can come join us for a night of musical soul searching, storytelling, and buttery vocals.
(Especially since it's the night before my birthday! 🎂)
I unexpectedly found myself in a pretty park with my guitar and a few minutes to myself. So I decided to rehearse this BRAND NEW song I will be playing in Saturday .
Did you get tickets yet? It's going to be such a fun album release celebration for 🎉 I am honored to be a part of it and I can't wait to share all of "It's good to be here" with you!

Any requests? I'm running through some of the songs I'm gonna play at my show with this Saturday . If you have one you'd love to hear me play, let me know, I can probably make it happen 😉
2 Rare Occurrences for me:
1. Talking on social media
2. Play a set of original music in the Philly area!
May 16th I am playing in East Falls Philadelphia getting to open for for her album release show! She is a wonderful artist whom I hope you'll check out if you haven't heard of her yet, and I am really honored to be a part of thiis special night of musical celebration.
So mark your calendars for May 16th (two Saturdays from now) and get tickets now (independent artists and venues LOVE it when you do that!) 💕
I'm really looking forward to sharing some brand new songs with you and being a part of this night!

The first part of this year, most of my musical time has been dedicated to studying the music of other songwriters and performers. From the music of Joe Cocker and Leon Russell for the Mad Dogs and Englishmen shows, to Emmylou Harris and Mary Chapin Carpenter for the Philly Loves Lilith show, and even a handful of Irish folk tunes for a sing-along event. And you know what? I have LOVED it! I loved getting to sink into the world of these songs, and focus my brain and body into telling these stories.
But I have also missed my own songs. But next Tuesday, 3/31 I am finally getting back on the stage to sing some Kate Mills originals. The Philadelphia Folksong Society will be hosting myself and Jefferson berry at Well Crafted Beer in La dsdale PA at 7pm.
It will be my first original set in several months and I am pumped about it!
I will play some favorites, some un-released, and even a few brand-new songs! I know it will be a really sweet night of music and much needed genuine connections overall, so I hope you are able to join us for that.
I've had the opportunity to spend some time learning some traditional Irish folk tunes this month. This one keeps following me around, so I thought I'd share it with you this St. Patrick's Day. ☘️
Good night and Joy be with you all 💚
