Harris Chernow, RRD Franchise and Hospitality Practice Chair and Chair of the Philadelphia Bar Association Business Law Section, had the distinct pleasure of moderating “Let’s Have At It: Insight Into Commercial Litigation” as part of the Philadelphia Bar Association Bench-Bar & Annual Conference.

The highlight was having the distinguished Honorable Judge Paula Patrick of the Philadelphia Commerce Court share her perspective from the bench and highlight the attributes of the Commerce Court, along with the highly experienced panelists Arianna McLaughlin, Jonathan Hugg, and Marc Zucker All contributed to a most engaging discussion.

When does a work-related eye injury qualify for specific loss benefits in Pennsylvania? In the latest Bret’s Corner, RRD Workers’ Compensation Chair Bret R. Goldstein explains why complete blindness is not required, how an injured eye’s remaining contribution to overall vision is evaluated, and why medical evidence can be critical in determining whether an employee has lost the use of an eye “for all practical intents and purposes.”

From the classroom to the hospitality industry! RRD Chair of the Franchise & Distribution and Hospitality Practice Groups Harris Chernow recently joined Professor Steven Shapiro of American University Washington College of Law and Young Hoon Kim Director of the College of Charleston Bennett School of Hospitality & Tourism Management along with Professor Brumby McLeod.

Harris and Professor Shapiro shared their experience and insights with students studying the various aspects of the hotel industry, including the legal and business issues that shape hospitality operations.
