National Greyhound Adoption Program
Let a greyhound race into your heart... adopt one! www.ngap.org NGAP is an independent, non-profit organization registered in the state of Pennsylvania.
It is a federally designated 501(c)3 corporation. We are funded by adoption fees, fund raising events, car donations and various donations of other kinds. All donations are tax deductible. NGAP has no affiliation with any greyhound track or any other organization and prides itself on being a strong national advocate for greyhounds. We have participated in both national exposes and legislative initiatives to help these 'greyt' dogs. Since the closing of the Florida tracks, we have switched our focus to helping salukis, saluki mixes, wadi dogs and other sighthounds from the Middle East. Thank you for your interest in National Greyhound Adoption Program.

Philly’s kitties need you!
ACCT Philly is currently out of space for incoming felines, so NGAP is stepping up to help provide some much-needed temporary housing.
We could really use some amazing cat-loving volunteers at our location in Northeast Philadelphia to help us care for these sweet kitties while we adjust our staffing. Whether you need community service hours, have a serious case of cat obsession, or just want to lend a helping hand—we have tasks for all abilities and experience levels!
Come spend some time with the cats, help make them feel safe and loved, and be part of the village that keeps Philly’s kitties thriving.
Interested in helping? We’d love to have you! 🐾 Email [email protected] for more information!

***REUNITED WITH OWNER!!***
AMBER ALERT! Missing Saluki!
One of our adopted Salukis, Dalton, got loose at Central Park in Doylestown, PA on Wells Rd. Approximate time was 3:15pm. He’s been back and forth between the park, woods, and so many people’s yards. Someone was hiking and said he ran past him. He is wearing a red fleece coat with red collar and NGAP tags. He is microchipped and the chip is registered to the owners. Please help if you can. Please repost! Dalton is a very sweet, social boy.

***ADOPTED!***
SIENNA
Saluki
Size: 42lbs
DOB: 08/06/2018 (guesstimated, may be younger)
Spayed Female
Cat friendly: No
Dog friendly: Yes, but likes her own space in the home and prefers respectful low-key dogs that match her energy.
Sienna is a quiet little princess who doesn’t ask for much. What she seems to want most is to feel safe, comfortable, and cared for. Give her a soft couch, a cozy blanket, a peaceful home, and someone she can quietly depend on—and she is perfectly content.
At about 40-ish pounds, Sienna is petite and beautiful, with a gorgeous coat and shiny, expressive eyes. She spends much of her day exactly where she wants to be: curled up on the couch, enjoying every creature comfort she can find. If you cover her with a blanket, you may have just become her favorite person.
She has a sweet, slightly quirky way about her. She can be aloof. She can be shy. She may watch you from a distance before deciding you're someone she wants to know.
When it comes to meals, she’s a wonderful eater—she just prefers a little privacy while she does it. Of course, if you happen to be eating something, she has no such reservations about expressing her interest or having a nibble from an unsupervised plate.
She is also an exceptionally easy dog to have around the house. She doesn't need a busy life. She is also a wonderfully expressive girl. She can be vocal without being a barker, as though she has little things she'd like to tell you throughout the day. Sienna is currently being fostered with another dog, but sharing space isn't really her favorite thing. She would likely be happiest as the queen of her own castle where all the comfiest things can be hers.
Sienna is not destructive, and she does not have separation anxiety. She can relax peacefully on her own without needing constant supervision or reassurance. And when it’s time to get in the car, she is wonderfully calm—she settles in and rides quietly, making her an easy companion for trips and everyday outings.
Sienna is perfectly housetrained. She goes outside to do her business and comes right back in, ready to return to the couch. Although she does seem to enjoy walks, on leash, she can be a little fearful. She may hesitate or feel unsure, but she will follow you and sometimes hide behind you. She just needs someone who understands that confidence isn't something you can demand from a dog—it’s something you patiently help them discover.
And perhaps that is the most important thing to know about Sienna:
She isn't looking for just anyone, she is looking for her person.
The person who notices when she is a little unsure and doesn't push.
The person who understands that turning away isn't rejection—it may simply be her way of saying, "I need a little time."
The person who will quietly sit beside her without asking anything of her.
The person who will celebrate the first time she chooses to come closer.
The person who will tuck a blanket around her, give her a soft place to land, and understand that sometimes love looks less like big, exciting adventures and more like being a safe place to come home to.
Sienna needs someone nurturing. Someone patient. Someone gentle and intuitive. Someone who doesn't need a dog to immediately adore them, but who would find something incredibly special in slowly earning that trust.
Because for the right person, Sienna won't just be a dog who needs patience, she'll be a little soul whose trust becomes a gift.
We know there is someone out there who will understand that gift perfectly. ❤️
