The Avalon String Band is proud to host our 2026 Golf Classic on Saturday, October 17, 2026, at Walnut Lane Golf Club, and we are seeking local businesses and community partners to help make this event a success through sponsorship.
As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, every sponsorship directly supports our mission of preserving the tradition of Philadelphia Mummers string band music while helping us continue our community outreach, performances, youth involvement, and charitable initiatives.

For the past several months, we’ve been putting the binders and folders aside and taking our music to the tablets with Virtual Song Book. It’s made keeping our music organized, updated, and ready for rehearsal a whole lot easier — and it keeps everyone literally on the same page!

🍰🥛✨ September Dessert Logo Drop: Tres Leches Edition!
The countdown to Jan 1, 2027 keeps getting sweeter! This month, Avalon is serving up Tres Leches Cake — a soft sponge cake soaked in “three milks” and topped with whipped cream.
📚 Quick history bite: Tres leches is loved across Latin America, though its exact origin is debated. The name means “three milks,” referring to the sweet milk mixture poured into the cake after baking.
