Balmour

Showed up as a real Jamaican this weekend in my Clarks Originals to celebrate the biggest brain in the business Marquise Davon Richards
If you know him, you respect him. If he knows you, you’re doing something right. Big brain, bigger heart. Knowing you has been a pleasure, family. Love you dawg!

Week 2. Systems systems systems systems. Driving questions this week were: How do I make systems stick for kids? How do I make them facing for my parents? How do I hold learners accountable while also treating them as human beings? How am I showing parents we are ON THE SAME TEAM? WHO PUT ME IN CHARGE??? Anyways, systems (in YOUR room) do work if you work em. Entrance procedures, exit procedures, the language of your intentional laps, a tight sequence, collecting data and responding to it, positive narration, parent touch points, addressing misconceptions, DEMERITS…all of it works if you do it every class, EVERY DAY.

Ogi sunandmoon yall put crack in this one ✨

Week 1 of the ‘26-‘27 school year is in the books. I’m not making any promises, but I am going to try to catalogue my thoughts, feelings and fits as I go this time. I’ve noticed that I chug along through these school years without making time for reflection, and once I get the chance to internalize I can only concretely remember positive moments. WHICH IS WILD BECAUSE THINGS DO BE POPPING OFF IN THESE SCHOOL HOUSES. Anyways. Week one was chaotic, but seeing my learners (new and old) recharged my spirit. I’m already battling the Sunday scaries, but I do look forward to the challenges that Monday may bring.

For my male educators, UNIQLO is the name of my game lol. Easy good fitting essentials. Go cop up expeditiously.
