Buddy is only 8–9 months old and about 5 pounds, and he has a condition called megaesophagus.

Buddy was originally adopted from Lee County Domestic Animal Services as a little baby. Once his family discovered that he had megaesophagus, he was brought back to the shelter.

And that absolutely broke our hearts.

EIO has experience with megaesophagus. We have an 8-year-old Great Dane who was diagnosed as a puppy, so we knew this diagnosis didn’t mean Buddy shouldn’t get a chance at life. It simply means he needs someone willing to put in a little extra work.

Buddy is a NORMAL DOG. ❤️ He plays, loves other dogs, wants to sleep in your bed, curl up in your lap and follow his human absolutely everywhere.

The biggest difference is how he eats. Buddy eats upright in a special Bailey chair and stays upright after his meals. That’s his routine — and he does great with it.

We weren’t going to let this tiny 5-pound baby lose his life over something that can be managed with extra care and commitment.

Now we need to find the person who feels the same way.

Buddy needs someone who is going to treat him like their baby and PUT IN THE WORK for him. Someone retired, working from home, or simply home a lot would be an amazing fit because this little boy LOVES his humans and would happily spend every waking hour with you. 😂

He doesn’t know he’s different. He doesn’t feel sorry for himself. He just wants someone to love him forever.

Meet Draco! 🐾💙

Draco is an approximately 8-year-old neutered male German Shepherd who is a true gentle giant. He’s house-broken, well-mannered, and gets along wonderfully with both dogs and cats.

These days, Draco is happiest doing what an older gentleman does best — lounging! He loves relaxing on the couch with his people and is convinced he’s much smaller than he actually is. Throughout the day, he’ll wander over and give you a little boop — his sweet way of saying, “Hi, I’m still here!” 🥰

Draco can be a little sensitive and may startle easily, particularly around unfamiliar men, so he’ll do best with a patient family willing to give him time to build confidence. Once he feels safe, his sweet and loving personality shines through.

Draco does have megaesophagus, which means he needs a special feeding routine, including upright feeding and staying upright after meals. He has been evaluated by both the shelter veterinarian and his foster family’s personal veterinarian, so his care needs have been thoroughly evaluated. To help make his transition into his forever home easier, Draco will also come with three months’ worth of his current medications.

Good news! Zendaya’s has found a rescue, however it is clear across the country! She in the Sacramento County Bradshaw Shelter, CA and she needs a airplane ✈️ ride to Connecticut!

This can be arranged but the airline is booked through October 1st! Zendaya, Border Collie/GSD Mix, 3 months old needs a temporary foster in the Sacramento, CA until her flight ✈️ can take off! If you missed her YouTube video, here it is! She is adorable!

Hey guys! We've got an urgent🚨🚨🚨 request for help with Draco. He is a gorgeous, healthy GSD that will be euthanized very soon if a home or a rescue doesn't step up.

His foster has worked so hard. He does have however he is well managed. He was a stray in the streets and weighed 69 lbs-skinny for his structure. She has him at 100 lbs and shelter vet says he could lose a few!

Unfortunately, she is at her limit, already with 2 dogs of her own and fosters 1-3 animals at a time.
