Opening at 8 a.m. has definitely been a learning experience! 😅 It’s been a lot of long hours, trial and error, and figuring out what systems we need to make these mornings run smoothly.

Aaron and Aamir both worked through the night, and Aamir has put in close to 18 hours since yesterday. This part may not always look glamorous, but it’s the work that has to happen behind the scenes when you’re growing a business.

You put in the extra work now so things can run a little easier later. We’re learning, adjusting, and getting better every day. Now let’s get this Sunday started! We’re open from 8 a.m.–7 p.m. 💛

I wasn’t even going to tell y’all about my little sourdough experiment yet…but Doughretha forced my hand! 😂

I fed her around 4 a.m., came home, and she had nearly tripled in size! Mind you, this is only Day 2, and I’m brand-new to this. Do I feed her again tonight or wait until tomorrow morning? Do I discard half first?

Sourdough experts, please report to the comments because Doughretha is already busting out the seams and clearly I need supervision! 😩😂 The full journey is coming soon!

Our first 8 AM $5 Friday was a success! 🙌🏾 Banana pudding was the star—per usual—but those cinnamon rolls were right on her heels! We baked, restocked, laughed with customers, and somehow made it through the day. 😂 Now I’m home with my iced tea and officially off duty. Good night, y’all! 😴
