🚚 From LeBow to Amazon.

After nine years as head of supply chain and operations for an online grocery company in India, Venkatesan Narayanan came to Drexel LeBow ready for the next step in his career.

Narayanan completed his MBA in 2025 and joined Amazon as a Supply Chain Manager, where analytical skills, statistics, Python and supply chain expertise are critical to the role. He says LeBow courses in management information systems and supply chain digital transformation helped prepare him for the technical and business challenges he encounters today.

Narayanan says of Vice Dean and Professor of MIS Murugan Anandarajan, “He has updated the coursework with relevant information on applying Artificial Intelligence to business problems,”. “Amazon is scaling up with AI. If you are not using it, you cannot keep up.”

Meet Amol Kohli, a Drexel graduate who went from earning $5/hour as a teenage Friendly’s waiter to becoming owner and chairman of the entire Friendly’s restaurant chain!

At 15, he waited tables at chain restaurant Friendly's—22 years later, he bought the whole company Amol Kohli was once a busboy and waiter at Friendly's, the Wilbraham, Massachusetts-based restaurant chain he now owns under his investment group Legacy Brands.

“My time at Drexel played a significant and foundational role in my career; it was during my undergraduate education that I realized the many ways in which one can impact the world. It was through great mentors at the Bennett S. Lebow College of Business that I realized I wanted to be in an academic setting where I could help others in the way my mentors helped guide my path.
