Q: How do you come up with character names?

A: I have sheets of names written down, both first names and last names. When I'm writing a story, I start looking through them for a name that fits. I'll then write down a bunch that I like and then start mixing and matching until I get one that I like.

Q: Have you ever regretted killing off a character?

A: I can't say that I have. I can't think of any instance in which I've written something and wished I still had a character that I previously killed off.

Q: Do you have a favorite TV show, past or present?

A: This is a tricky one. There's quite a few. For the past I'll go with Columbo or Hawaii Five-0 (the remake- though I enjoy the original also). My favorite current show is either The Rookie or FBI.

Q: How do you deal with book reviews? Both positive and negative?

A: I don't. Don't look at them, don't read them. I know some authors do, thinking they can get something constructive out of them, but for me, negative reviews can mess with my head space. I used to look at them earlier in my career, but I don't have the energy to deal with it anymore. I write the book I want to write, and hopefully everyone loves it, but I know not everyone will. And I don't want bad reviews impacting what or how I write, or making me not want to write that day at all. So I don't even bother looking at them.

Q: Hi! I just wanted to ask a non-writing question and ask what you think you'd be doing if you weren't an author?

A: I'd most likely still be in retail. I was a manager for a national office supply store for a long time. Hated it for the most part. Don't miss those days. Thankful to everyone who reads my books and allows me to do this!
