Unity San Antonio received a proclamation from San Antonio City Council honoring September as National Recovery Month and recognizing the work being done in our community to support recovery.

We are grateful for the recognition and for the opportunity to continue showing that recovery is possible, that there are many pathways to it, and that people deserve support without stigma.

Thank you to City Council for standing with the recovery community and helping elevate the importance of peer support, treatment, connection, and long-term recovery.

Our 4th Annual Weatherford commUNITY Day — Through the Decades — was one for the books!

A huge thank you to all of our community partners who showed up and made this night what it was. From the vendors who brought food, to parters who shared resources and connected with our community, to Crazy Train Entertainment who made sure the kids had just as much fun as everyone else — you helped create a space where people could simply come together and enjoy being part of their community.

A special shoutout to Passive Drivers for bringing the live music and keeping the energy going all night!

Nights like this are about creating a community where recovery and mental health aren’t hidden in the shadows, where people are seen, supported, celebrated, and reminded that they belong.

Unity Recovery Weatherford was honored to attend Parker County Commissioner’s Court for the proclamation recognizing September as National Recovery Month.

National Recovery Month is an opportunity to bring recovery out of the shadows and recognize the millions of individuals and families impacted by mental health and substance use disorders. It’s a time to celebrate the strength, resilience, and hope found in recovery—and to remind our communities that everyone deserves to be seen, supported, and celebrated.

We are grateful to Parker County for recognizing the importance of recovery and for celebrating the people in our community who are in or seeking recovery.

Together, we can continue creating a community where recovery is visible, supported, and celebrated.

On this international overdose awareness day, from Denton to Philadelphia to Dallas to Weatherford to San Antonio, we remember those lost in our communities and those who still love them finding ways through the grief.

The 2026 commUNITY Conference keynote lineup is here! Four speakers. Four distinct perspectives. One shared commitment to pushing our work - and our communities - forward.

Monique Tula — A nationally recognized harm reduction leader with three decades of experience in public health, advocacy, and building the infrastructure that supports community-based harm reduction. Her career has centered the health, dignity, and rights of people who use drugs.

Stephen Murray, MPH, NRP — Overdose researcher, longtime paramedic and first responder, and a national voice in overdose prevention and harm reduction. Stephen brings together frontline experience, research, and his own lived experience as a person who used drugs and overdose survivor.

Roland Lamb, MA — A Philadelphia behavioral health leader with nearly five decades of experience in substance use and behavioral health services. Roland played a significant role in Philadelphia’s transformation toward a Recovery Oriented System of Care and has helped shape approaches centered on trauma, equity, community, and population health.

Noel Vest, PhD — A recovery scientist and policy scholar at Boston University whose work examines substance use disorders, collegiate recovery, mental health, prison reentry, and the consequences of mass incarceration. His scholarship is informed by a commitment to expanding opportunity for people with criminal histories.
