Our young learners explored what it was like to cook by preparing their favorite meals through imaginative play. Using plastic foods, they practiced following steps, making choices, communicating ideas, and developing fine-motor and social skills.

Hands-on experiences like this supported early childhood development by helping children build practical skills, confidence, problem-solving abilities, and independence through play. ๐Ÿฅ•๐Ÿ‘ฉโ€๐Ÿณ

Wishing all who are observing a meaningful and reflective Yom Kippur. ๐Ÿ•ฏ๏ธ

Yom Kippur, a Jewish holy day known as the Day of Atonement, is a time for prayer, reflection, seeking forgiveness, and thinking about how we treat one another. These ideas can resonate at every age, as children learn to understand othersโ€™ feelings, work through disagreements, make amends, and recognize that each day brings a new opportunity to make a kind choice.

At FELS, kindness, empathy, responsibility, and community are part of childrenโ€™s everyday learning. Whether or not your family observes Yom Kippur, these are values we can all carry with us.

May this day bring peace, healing, and renewed hope to all who observe.

Grandparents Day brought our young learners and their grandparents together for meaningful time, creative activities, and plenty of shared moments. Through arts and crafts and time spent side by side, children had the opportunity to learn from the stories, experiences, and wisdom of a generation before them.

These connections support early childhood development by strengthening communication, creativity, confidence, and social-emotional skills, while helping children build a deeper appreciation for where they come from.

๐ŸŽ๐Ÿฏ Shanah Tovah uโ€™Metukah! ืฉื ื” ื˜ื•ื‘ื” ื•ืžืชื•ืงื”

Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year, is a time for reflection, hope, and new beginnings. For children, its lessons can be found in everyday moments: learning from mistakes, trying again, showing kindness, and caring for others.

Through traditions like the shofar, apples, and honey, children discover the meaning behind this special holiday while exploring values that connect us all: compassion, gratitude, responsibility, and growth.

At FELS, we celebrate the traditions that make each family unique while nurturing the shared values that bring our community together.

Wishing all who celebrate a sweet and meaningful New Year, and all our FELS families a year filled with kindness, learning, and joy. ๐ŸŽ๐Ÿฏ

Our young, optimistic learners are starting the 2026โ€“2027 academic year with a bang! ๐Ÿ™๏ธโœจ

As they explored the wonderful world of architecture, our children designed and built skyscrapers as tall as, and even taller than, themselves. This hands-on activity strengthened creativity, problem-solving, spatial awareness, teamwork, and confidence while showing children that their ideas can become something tangible.

Weโ€™re excited to see where their curiosity takes them and what the 2026โ€“2027 academic year holds! ๐Ÿš€

๐ŸŽจ Back-to-school preparation started this summer! Our children practiced patterns and color matching by pairing vehicle toys with their correct colors. This hands-on activity strengthened color recognition, matching, and early cognitive skills while keeping young minds engaged and ready to learn as the new school year approached. ๐ŸŒˆ๐Ÿš—

๐ŸŽ’ Itโ€™s officially back-to-school time! As we begin a new academic year, preparation is especially important in early childhood education. A smooth start helps children feel secure, supports consistent routines, and creates the foundation for a successful year of learning and growth.

From getting school supplies ready to reestablishing daily routines, a little preparation can make a big difference. Weโ€™re beyond excited to welcome our children, families, and educators back and see all that the 2026โ€“2027 academic year has in store! ๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿ“š

Quiver Farm Projects paid us a visit this past Monday, giving our young learners the chance to meet, interact with, and pet a variety of farm animals. Along the way, they explored animal behavior, farming, and animal care through an experience that was both educational and fun.

The result? Big smiles, curious minds, and a wonderful start to the week as we get ready for back-to-school season! ๐Ÿ“๐Ÿ๐Ÿ–
