LeBron sees All-Defensive potential in VJ Edgecombe 👀

LeBron James believes the 76ers’ young guard has the tools to make a major defensive leap this season, with Jaylen Brown serving as a blueprint for Edgecombe to follow.

“[There’s] no reason he shouldn’t be able to, if he really wants to be contending for an All-Defensive team this year,” LeBron said on Mind the Game.

“With his athleticism, with his length, with his speed. If he wants to. If he wants to.”

LeBron also wants Edgecombe studying Brown closely: “Obviously, I think JB is going to set the tone with his ability to guard, but I think VJ should be right there, just taking all of the keys from JB, learning all of the nuances, because he has all of the tools. People always want you to, like, ‘you’ll get your turn’, why? Why can’t I do it now?” 🔒

Jaylen Brown says Tyrese Maxey has already stood out as one of Philadelphia’s most vocal leaders.

“Tyrese has been a great communicator. He’s been leading with his voice early on.”

For Brown, that leadership has also been personal. He says Maxey has gone out of his way to help him get comfortable within the Sixers’ system and make the transition easier.

“He’s gone out of his way to make sure that I feel comfortable in the system.”

Brown said he appreciates the effort Maxey has made not only with him, but with everyone around the team.

“For him to be trying to make sure I feel welcome, I appreciate it… He’s been the most vocal. He’s been the one making sure everybody is accommodated.”

Maxey’s leadership is showing up before the season even begins.

Patrick Beverley has a warning for LeBron James.

Tyrese Maxey's hilarious response to LeBron James leaving 76ers practice in helicopter Philadelphia 76ers guard Tyrese Maxey had a hilarious reaction to LeBron James departing from practice via helicopter.

Tyrese Maxey knows exactly what makes Jaylen Brown such a nightmare matchup.

“JB’s, like, physically a freak of nature. He's just stronger than you. He jumps higher than you. He's faster than you and he's very talented.”

When you combine that physical dominance with Brown’s skill and athleticism, there aren’t many easy possessions against him.

Dean Wade knew exactly what he was looking for when he made the move to Philadelphia.

“I knew why I was coming here. I wanted to compete for a championship…”

That should tell Sixers fans everything about the expectations surrounding this team.

Wade didn’t come to Philadelphia simply looking for a new opportunity.

He came because he believes this roster can compete at the highest level.

With the Sixers loading up around their stars, having experienced role players who understand exactly why they’re here can make a huge difference over the course of a season.

Wade brings size, shooting, versatility, and another dependable option for a team with championship ambitions.

And his mindset already matches the goal in Philadelphia.

He came here to win.

Now it’s about turning those expectations into something real. 🔥

Joel Embiid is already having some fun with his new teammate Jaylen Brown.

The two had plenty of battles before becoming teammates in Philadelphia, and Embiid clearly remembers them well.

“I’ve had a lot of battles with him. Even when we came back down 3-1 against them last year, he took the challenge of guarding me.”

Then came the troll:

“He knew he had no chance of getting a stop.”

That’s the kind of quote that makes this Sixers team even more entertaining heading into the season.

Embiid and Brown went from competing against each other in huge games to now trying to win together in Philadelphia.

They already know each other’s mentality.

They already know each other’s toughness.

And if that competitive history turns into chemistry, the Sixers could have something really dangerous.

Former rivals.

Now teammates.

And Embiid is already making sure JB doesn’t forget the old battles. 😂🔥

You can feel how much winning means to Joel at this stage of his career. It’s not just about adding another achievement; it’s about giving Philadelphia the moment the city has been waiting for.

Hearing LeBron say he wants to help make that happen makes this even more meaningful. We just want to see Joel and Philly get that chance 💙❤️
