Hard posting in honor of the show tomorrow night. Probably the last time I’ll perform for a long while, especially in Baltimore, so be sure not to miss it.

Doors at 6pm, I play at 7! As Bob said “punctual is the new late”

Slide 1: big hair day for algorithm

Slide 2: some ferns I liked the look of…they are called “sensitive ferns”

Deep in nostalgia lately, and I’ve been thinking a lot about the swing, one of my favorite places that doesn’t exist anymore.

I was living in a tiny Sears kit house on Cleveland Ave in Athens, Ga that was a few yards from the train tracks. On the other side of the tracks was a tall tree with a rope swing overlooking a little valley of kudzu where a community of groundhogs had a vast network of tunnels. I’d take my coffee up there most mornings and watch them pop their heads out of their holes. Friends would gather there weekly. I learned a lot about myself at that time. I made a lot of mistakes and grew a lot in that time. I wrote a lot of music inspired by the train noises at night. It was a magical place and a transformative time in my life. I was a runner then, and ran all over town. My life there was traversed largely on foot or by bike, sensory engagement, before I had a computer in my phone.

I’ve been back since and the swing isn’t there. The rotting old house I lived in was renovated and probably costs more than double what I paid for it then.

Thanks for the photographic evidence . I’m glad this photo exists.
