DSLR Decisions
You get all set up at your spot; you take a test shot or two before the train arrives and make any necessary adjustments. The train arrives, and you press down on the shutter button and hold for a second or two. BAM! You got it.
Now comes the hard part: deciding the best shot in the sequence. All too often, I find myself in this dilemma when shooting digital. I hate deleting a reasonably good shot, so I end up saving them all. Anyone else find themselves in this position???

Bear mom relocated after taking her cubs on FIVE train rides. Wildlife officials say a black bear mother and her two cubs were relocated after repeatedly climbing aboard the same freight train and riding several miles through the area.

Officials acted quickly once they realized it had become a pattern. They feared the train could eventually carry the family into a populated or industrial area, while constantly being moved between unfamiliar places could disrupt the cubs.

The bears were safely relocated farther away from the railway. One woman who saw them riding twice said, “I’ve complained about that train my whole life. Seeing those bears was the only time I was happy to hear it coming. I’m really going to miss them.”

L151 comes around the final curve of the Catoctin Mountain at MacAfee Hill Rd. as it heads into the yard limits in Highfield, MD, to interchange with the Maryland Midland.
