Hispanic Heritage Month,
Although I don’t really need this month to be loud and proud of my roots. I embrace and live with it on a daily.
There were so many times growing up, it was easier to not mention what country or where I was from because well.
In some areas being Hispanic was not so welcoming, I never cared. I remember almost being suspended for taking out the Ecuadorian flag and wrapping it around myself like a cape during World Cup Season.

I may not have been born in Ecuador, but thanks to my parents it runs in my blood. I love our culture, our traditions, the language aside from Spanish. Yes I speak Kichwa also 😉 my Dad use to always remind me to be proud and never water yourself down for no one or nothing.
