From Philadelphia to Helsinki!
Fralinger String Band performing “What a Little Moonlight Can Do” at the Freedom 250 Celebration hosted by the Embassy of the United States of America in Helsinki, Finland.
It was an incredible honor to represent Philadelphia and the Mummers tradition on an international stage as part of a celebration marking 250 years of American independence.
As the event program put it, the Mummers are “part folk ritual, part neighborhood competition, part public theater — and unmistakably Philadelphia.”
We couldn’t be prouder to bring a little piece of Broad Street more than 4,000 miles from home.

What an incredible way to cap off a memorable night in Helsinki!
Following our performance, Fralinger was honored to be invited to the residence of U.S. Ambassador to Finland, Howard Brodie, for a special after-party celebration.
We’re incredibly grateful for the warm hospitality and the opportunity to share a little piece of Philadelphia and Mummers tradition here in Finland. Experiences like this make an already unforgettable trip even more special.
