🎉 Back-to-School Celebration Alert! 🎉

To celebrate finishing the first week of school, ALL students can enjoy a complimentary "No Uniform Today" Day tomorrow, Friday! Dress down at no cost to mark the end of our first week back. 🥳

Starting next week, the Home and School Association weekly No Uniform Today Friday fundraiser officially kicks off! Students can dress down every Friday for $1.00, with all proceeds directly supporting the HSA and Cook-Wiss students!

Hello, incoming kindergarten families! The HSA is hosting several casual meet ups in the kindergarten yard. Please join us to meet new friends and ask us any questions you have. See you soon!

Amazing summer camp opportunity- apply TODAY!

The Wellness Summer Camp is a free summer program for children ages 6–12 who may benefit from extra emotional, behavioral, or social-emotional support in a structured, supportive environment. The program focuses on coping skills, confidence-building, positive peer relationships, recreation, and daily structure while still creating a fun and engaging summer experience for kids. Enrollment requires commitment to the full summer schedule (consistent attendance is required; this is not a drop-in summer camp).

Program details:

FREE of cost to families
June 23 – August 15
Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–3:00 PM
Breakfast, lunch, and snacks provided
Space is limited to 30 children this summer
Enrollment priority given to kids who receive behavioral health services or therapeutic support through Medicaid
Two in-person caregiver/parent support workshops will be offered (July & August – dates TBA)
Free transportation available for Medicaid-eligible participants with an active behavioral health diagnosis

Families interested in applying should complete the application by June 1.

This week is the district's open house week. Cook-Wissahickon will hold our Kindergarten Open House tomorrow, May 13, from 2:30-3:30. Incoming kindergarten families are encouraged to come meet the teachers, see the kindergarten rooms, and familiarize yourselves with the school, in order to set us all up for a great start in the fall!

🚨The 5K/1-mile walk is tomorrow (5/9) at 8am. Check-in and on site registration starts at 7am.

The Cook-Wiss 5K is tomorrow (Saturday 5/9)- the race kicks off at 8:00 AM.

We are Rain or Shine! Current forecasts show the rain holding off until after the race, so it should be a great morning for a run.

Check-in & registration opens at 7AM on-site. Online registration is now closed, but in-person registration is available tomorrow morning. Join us this evening 4-7 at Philadelphia Runner for early bib pick up and a shopping event where 10% of sales go back to the HSA.

Even if you aren't running, stop by and get out of the house before the rain! We have some amazing raffles- bring cash or pay via PayPal. You can participate in the raffle, and if you have to go, we will call you if you win!
