The Hear Her® Campaign is a national public health initiative launched in 2020 by the (CDC) Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and supported by the CDC Foundation. It aims to prevent pregnancy-related deaths by raising awareness of urgent maternal warning signs, improving patient-provider communication, and encouraging support networks to listen to pregnant and postpartum individuals.

Dope!

Chadwick Boseman was a college student with a big dream. He wanted to become a great actor, but like many students, money was a challenge. While studying at Howard University, he earned a place in a summer acting program at the British American Drama Academy at Oxford. It was an amazing opportunity, but many students, including Chadwick, could not afford the cost.

His teacher, actress Phylicia Rashad, wanted to help. Without telling the students, she contacted successful Black artists and asked if they would donate money. One of the people who quietly said yes was Denzel Washington. At the time, Chadwick did not know who had paid for his education. Thanks to those generous donations, he was able to attend the program and continue chasing his dream.

Years passed, and Chadwick became one of Hollywood's most respected actors. He starred in many successful movies, including Black Panther, inspiring millions of people around the world.

In 2019, Chadwick had the chance to honor Denzel Washington at the AFI Life Achievement Award ceremony. Standing on stage, he shared a story that many people had never heard before.

Looking at Denzel, he said, "You had no idea that that investment would mean what it would mean to the world. There is no Black Panther without Denzel Washington."

Then he turned to the audience and added, "And not just because of artistic influence—he funded my education."

The room filled with applause. A quiet act of kindness had helped shape the future of a young actor who would later inspire millions. Sometimes, one generous gift can change not only one life but also the lives of countless others.

Family, we would like to share a special story of a very special witness during our Tough Mudder 2026 event.

Our Brother Johnathan Nelson became a finisher of the May 23rd 2026 Philadelphia Tough Mudder. He is a stroke survivor who committed to finishing the Tough Mudder with Team Enon (Enon Tabernacle Baptist Church) this year. Brother Farrad is assisting Brother Johnathan Nelson

🔥 We also celebrate Brothers Rich Walls and Jerry Pendergrass – who both completed the Mudder at 70 years of age!

This is what faith, grit, and brotherhood look like.
