At the Philadelphia Robotics Coalition, we’re not just building robots, we’re building pathways to the future!

Through our workforce development initiatives, we provide students and young adults with opportunities to strengthen technical skills, gain hands-on experience, develop leadership abilities, and explore careers in STEM and technology.

From robotics and coding to mentorship and real-world professional experiences, we’re helping prepare the next generation with the skills and confidence they need to succeed in today’s workforce.

Our mission continues: Robotics in Every Neighborhood: From Cradle to Career.

The Philadelphia Robotics Coalition is honored to be an Impact Grant recipient from NBC10 Philadelphia, Telemundo62, and ComcastUniversal. As a small but mighty nonprofit, we rely on partners who invest in our young people to advance our critical mission.

This grant expands what's possible for the students, families, communities, and coaches we serve. It creates more opportunities for our participants to explore, create, and build futures of their own, and it moves us closer to our vision of Robotics in Every Neighborhood. The youth we serve deserve high-quality STEM experiences right where they live. Because of this support, more of them will have them.

Thank you to the incredible teams at NBC10, Telemundo62, and Comcast NBCUniversal for believing in this work and in the next generation of STEM and community leaders. Congratulations to our fellow recipients. This is a very invaluable step toward creating Robotics in Every Neighborhood: From Cradle to Career.

It was great connecting with the community and sharing robotics opportunities across the Philadelphia region.

From September 15 through October 15, the Philadelphia Robotics Coalition proudly celebrates the rich cultures, histories, achievements, and contributions of Hispanic and Latino communities.

Throughout STEM, Hispanic and Latino innovators continue to inspire the next generation of scientists, engineers, programmers, and creators. At PRC, we believe every young person deserves the opportunity to explore their creativity, develop new skills, and see themselves as a future leader in STEM.

Robotics in Every Neighborhood: From Cradle to Career.

This week, I sat with three executives who support students in STEM post-high school. They are leaders in higher ed, industry, and workforce programs; different institutions, same message. They implored PRC to teach determination, resilience, and persistence alongside content, because too often that's the conversation that matters most. They're seeing young people between 18 and 24 who have the content knowledge and technical foundation. However, they struggle to push through when things get hard. That equals too many youth who never finish their programs. I ask myself the questions that the great Rita Pierson stated, "So what? Now what?"

It made me sit with our/my role at PRC. Robotics isn't just about the build. It's where our youth practice the 5 C's: creativity, communication, curiosity, critical thinking, and collaboration. The skills that carry them past the moment they want to quit. The 5 C's are necessary.

So I'm asking myself, "Are we doing enough? Are we partnering with our stakeholders deeply enough? Are we truly equipping our youth to build the futures they dream of?"

PRC is always reimagining how we serve our young people while ensuring we have "Robotics in Every Neighborhood: From Cradle to Career." This IS the work for all of us.
