Still Taking Minutes, curated by Logan Cryer , is a interview-based exhibition that explores how Philadelphia artists build, sustain and leave collectives. Cryer interviewed over 13 artists based in Philadelphia about their experience as current or past members of artist collectives. Subsequently, four Vox Members — Aaron Terry , Ollie Goss , Gregory Donnell Parker .etc, and catia colagioia — met to discuss the conflicts, triumphs and reflections shared those conversations. The resulting exhibition consists of commissioned works from these four artists that reflect some complicated truths about the history of artist collectives and the future of the DIY artist community in our city.

An Endless Meeting: Collective Process, Artistic Labor, and the Politics of Working Together brings together work by nationally recognized artists and collectives exploring collective process as both a method and a subject.

New Red Order’s "Give it Back: Crimes Against Realty (Office Edition)" takes the form of a real estate office and recruitment station investigating gestures of land being voluntarily returned to Indigenous people. Kameelah Janan Rasheed's "Study: East Palo Alto" is an evolving library collection examining the histories of Black experimental schooling and learning environments, where visitors can encounter, copy, and circulate research materials, inviting them to participate in the production and sharing of knowledge. Caroline Woolard's "Art of Gravity" uses kinetic sculpture to model the relationships of balance, support, and connection that make collaboration possible. Together, the works ask how collective practices are built, sustained, shared, and put into action.

Join former Vox Member Melissa Langer and Video Store•Age at RAIR — the working recycling & demolition center featured in her film IN EXCESS — for an evening of live sound, screen printing and hand-to-hand DIY film distribution featuring:

In 變 SLOW BURN, eight artists and collectives explore memory, belonging, grief, q***r kinship, dreaming, and transformation. Bringing together installation, performance, video, sound, and painting in Vox’s Gallery One and Black Box, this exhibition

Breathing from the mystical creature of fènghuáng – bigender birds that guard the South and Fire – this exhibition centers the slow burning of grief, rage, resistance, and world building. Etymologically, 變 biàn denotes weaving through silk and words with folding hands. Shifting between meanings of movement, chaos, uprising, and change, 變 gathers collective practice into a relational cosmology shaped by tending, where rebirth unfolds not through spectacular sacrifice, but through the act of coming together again and again.

Co-curated laura 嘟嘟 and huiyin zhou 徽音, curators in residence Vox Populi, as part of An Endless Meeting.

Series II. Minutes, r. 2. b. 3 f. 1-10, 1987 March – 1988 March (ACT UP New York Records, Archives and Manuscripts Division, The New York Public Library)is a vocal performance bythe artist and writer Ethan Philbrick that uses meeting minutes from ACT UP New York’s first year of weekly general meetings as its sole textual material. While minutes are sometimes overlooked as nothing more than bureaucratic notes, this performance approaches them as collective poetic texts that document the desires and frustrations of trying to get urgent things done together. For audience members, Series II. Minutes will be both a listening and reading experience, as each attendeewill be given a printed reader that contains copies of the original ACT UP New York meeting minutes so that they can read along while listening.

Series II. Minutes will be performed by Philbrick alongside vocalists Maia Chao, Daniel de Jesús, and Nicole Renna, and string players Carlos Santiago (violin), Veronica Mercedes Pazymiño Jurkiewicz (viola), Billy Ray Boyer (viola), and Evan Kassouf (cello), with publication design by spreeeng (Carlos Romo-Melgar and John Philip Sage).

Co-curators Laura 嘟嘟 and huiyin zhou 徽音 (Vox Populi's An Endless Meeting) will share the collective process behind 變 SLOW BURN — an exhibition bringing together eight Philly-affiliated artists and collectives to explore memory, belonging, grief, q***r kinship, dreaming, and transformation.

They'll trace the curatorial threads weaving through the show — 變 biàn (change), 鳳凰 fènghuáng (phoenix), and 八卦 bāguà (the eight trigrams) — and how these shaped a relational cosmology of tending, where rebirth unfolds not through spectacular sacrifice but through coming together again and again.
