Acoustic version of “Give Flight.” It was really fun to play this one stripped down, taking it back to the way it was originally written. We’ll see you 7/23 at Johnny Brenda’s in Philly, 7/31 at Unruly Collective in NYC, and 8/1 at Ortlieb’s in Philly!

When we started writing this newest collection of songs in the summer of ‘24, ‘98 felt a little different. It started with just a Casiotone 101 and vocals, and evolved over the last year. This song was written after Sal lost his grandfather, and how hard it can be to watch a loved one pass away, while reflecting on your place in life at the moment. There’s a wide range of influences on this track, specifically Masayoshi Takanaka inspiring the guitar solo at the end. Thank you so much to Lucas Naylor for production, Justin Bartlett for mixing, Alan Douches for mastering, James for the art, Pablo for editing, and Elle for letting us borrow a keyboard for the grand piano section. Thank you so much for listening to this song and thank you so much for supporting Elephant Jake.
