You’ve got to love a faculty union centering students’ needs for transportation and child care in its demands. Way to go Faculty and Staff Federation of Community College of Philadelphia 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

AFT Higher Education Believe in Students

Our bargaining proposals are student centered, and we have let management at Community College of Philadelphia know that it’s time to:

* Address the impact of inflation with real raises + pay PTVLs and Instructional Aides their worth, which means a $6,000/per course minimum and lifting up the salary schedule for Aides

* Hire faculty and staff in MMS, IT, facilities, Counseling, Advising, the Library, and the Learning Lab

*Reduce class size in 36-student classes and in other targeted areas

*Pay faculty leaders for their time to coordinate degree programs and so much more

*Drop power grab attacks on tenure, faculty evaluation, VL seniority, and faculty workload

*Meet our common good demands to explore a new child care center on campus and provide SEPTA passes for students.

What we want for ourselves is what we want for our students: dignity, respect, and the ability for our members and their families to thrive.
