Arizona Legislative Internship Program

Overview --
Interns receive a stipend and a tuition/fee waiver, and earn 12 hours of undergraduate upper division credit or 9 hours of graduate credit upon successful completion of the internship. The Legislative Internship Program is offered during the spring semester. Interns are placed in various positions at the Arizona State Senate or House of Representatives. Generally, interns conduct legislative and public policy research, present information to committees, caucuses and individual legislators, analyze bills and write summaries. Eligibility --
Applicants must be candidates for a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree with a GPA of 3.0 or higher at the time of application. Candidates for a Bachelor’s degree must have earned at least 75 hours by the end of the fall semester (For ASU students only, at least 24 hours must have been completed at ASU). Go online to www.azleg.gov for more information and to complete an application. Applications must be submitted to your campus coordinator (see website for more information). Campus interviews are conducted in October to determine which candidates will be interviewed at the State Capitol by the Legislative Selection Committee.
