Neway Debebe is one of Ethiopia’s most celebrated singers and songwriters, known for his smooth and distinctive vocal style, often described as a “voice of silk.” Rising to prominence in the late 1970s, he became widely recognized as the lead vocalist of the legendary Roha Band and went on to become one of the defining voices of modern Ethiopian popular music.
Now, we’re bringing his music and legacy to Phoenix for a special evening of Ethiopian music, culture, food, and community!

Congratulations to all who worked hard to broker peace in Ethiopia that took place in Pretoria, South Africa yesterday. It stopped a war that has costed several hundred thousand of lives and displaced millions for the last two years. It was a truly African solution to a African problem. We hope this leds to true Pan Africanism and a lasting peace, not just in Ethiopia, but to all Africa.

Come together as a community and celebrate the Ethiopian New Year with our authentic and flavorful Ethiopian food, as well as traditional music provided by DJ Tilik during the Enkutatash. Which means the gift of jewels, and is celebrated by Ethiopian Orthodox Christians who follow the Julian calendar.

Usually AZCentral unveils their best restaurants at the end of the year in December but Christmas came early!
Thanks for this great article writing “…EthioAfrican has quickly become a destination for Ethiopian food in Phoenix. The restaurant reopened in January after an extensive six-month renovation that included paneling the walls with Ethiopian wood and peppering the dining room with colorful mesob baskets. A lot of care has been put into this humble strip mall setting, and it shows…on my latest visit, that included a standout berbere spiced doro wat key made with a chicken leg and hard-boiled egg, as well as a chunky keyser salad of roasted beets with potatoes and garlic.
