Ni****ne pouches are often marketed as a cleaner, discreet alternative to smoking or va**ng, but they still contain ni****ne—a highly addictive substance that can impact the developing adolescent brain. Many youth are drawn to flavored products, social media trends, and misconceptions that ni****ne pouches are harmless.
Prevention starts with education, open conversations, and helping young people understand the risks of ni****ne addiction. By building healthy coping skills, encouraging critical thinking about marketing tactics, and fostering supportive relationships, we can empower youth to make informed choices and protect their long-term health.

Prevention starts with connection. Youth who feel supported, informed, and valued are more likely to make healthy choices and seek help when they need it. By creating safe spaces for honest conversations, teaching coping skills, building resilience, and strengthening community support, we can help prevent methamphetamine use before it starts.
Parents, caregivers, educators, and community members all play a role in prevention. Listen without judgment, stay engaged, and make sure young people know they have trusted adults they can turn to. Every positive connection matters.

Open conversations with kids about substances are one of the most powerful prevention tools we have. Research shows that young people who talk openly with their parents or trusted adults about drugs and alcohol are far less likely to use them.
Start the conversation early:
• Create a safe, judgment-free space for questions
• Share facts—especially about fentanyl and its dangers
• Listen without lecturing
• Let them know you're always there
The best prevention happens at home, through trust and honest dialogue.
Fentanyl is a powerful synthetic opioid that's 50-100 times stronger than morphine. Even a tiny amount—as small as a few grains of salt—can be deadly.
If you or someone you know is struggling with opioid use, help is available:
• Call the SAMHSA National Helpline: 1-800-662-4357 (free, confidential, 24/7)
• Naloxone (Narcan) can reverse an overdose—ask your pharmacy or local health department
• Treatment saves lives
Natural doesn't mean safe. 🌿⚠️
Kratom may come from a plant, but it carries serious risks. It can be addictive, cause withdrawal symptoms, and interact dangerously with other substances. The FDA has linked it to multiple deaths.
Just because something is natural doesn't make it harmless. Know the facts before you use.
