Craft MD: Phoenixโ€™s patient-centric practice led by Double Board-Certified Plastic Surgeon Dr.Craft

She had thirty years of Arizona sun and a jawline that had stopped being a line.

One year after a deep plane face and neck lift and a phenol croton oil peel. Same room, same light, no filter, no laser.

The lift did what a lift does: the jaw, the neck, the corners of the mouth. The peel did the part a lift can't touch. Those vertical lines around the mouth are the reason phenol croton oil still exists in 2026. Nothing else resurfaces that deep.

The color is the part people get wrong. That's not lighter skin. That's her skin with the sun damage taken off it. She says it's the color she remembers.

Facelift lifts. Fat grafting fills. The peel regenerates. Three different jobs.

Patient photos shared with written consent, unaltered.

Creatine monohydrate. Five grams a day, every day, for years. Not cycled, not loaded, not timed around anything.

Here's what the evidence actually supports, and it's less exciting than your feed wants it to be: more strength and more lean mass from the same training, especially in people over 40, and a small, real benefit for short-term memory and processing under stress. That's the list. It did not fix my sleep, my mood, or my forties. It made the work I was already doing count for slightly more, which over enough years adds up to the photo.

It's the most studied supplement in sports medicine, it's cheap, and the monohydrate form is the one with the data. Everything fancier costs more to do the same thing.

This is general education, not medical advice. Creatine isn't right for everyone, including people with kidney disease, and a decision to take it belongs with your own physician, not a mirror selfie.

Fifty, with a six-year-old. Not the median demographic at school pickup.

I was raised the Gen X way. House key around the neck, dinner if you were home, and consequences that did not come with a discussion. It built independence. It did not build a lot of hugs.

So I kept half.

My son hears "I love you" about 20 times a day. His usual response is "Ugh, Dad. I already know." He also gets boundaries without exceptions. When a line gets crossed, the consequence happens. Calmly. Every time.

The side effect: I almost never threaten. There is nothing to threaten with. He already knows that too.

The research has a name for this. Psychologists call it authoritative parenting. I call it follow-through.

Gen X parents: what did you keep from how you were raised, and what did you quietly throw out?

He's not wrong.

For the record, the type predates the gray. The gray just arrived on time, which is more than I can say for him.

I'm a plastic surgeon. I could fix it. I'm choosing not to. That's the whole review.

Things you shouldn't do while your kids are waiting to build Legos with you.

In our defense, the Legos had been waiting four minutes. The pump had been building for thirty years.

You see a lot of us on here. Tank tops, gym, the two of us being ridiculous. That's the part that photographs well.

The part that doesn't is the other side of the counter. Two kids, a bag of bricks, and instructions we're being told to read. That's most of the day. It just doesn't get the camera.

Last time I showed you what happens to your own fat between harvest and injection. This is the version for people who want the result in the face without the liposuction.

Renuva is donated fat tissue processed into a scaffold. It arrives ready to use, gets injected where the face has lost volume, and over the following months your own cells move in and replace it with your own fat. No harvest, no incision, no donor site. Where I reach for it: temples, hollows, small volumes. Where I don't: anywhere real volume is the goal. That's still a fat graft, and that's still a consultation. Link in bio.

I microneedle my own face every two to three months. This is one cycle, day zero to ten weeks, same phone and the same light.

Why ReyaGel, specifically. Microneedling works by creating thousands of controlled micro-injuries, so the product you put on in the first hours is really a wound-care decision, not a skincare one. ReyaGel came out of hospital wound care. Its base is a Multi-Tissue Platform built from the extracellular matrix of several tissue types, which means hundreds of naturally occurring peptides and biomolecules rather than one headline ingredient, and it contains no preservatives, thickeners, fragrance, or colorants. The maker's stated purpose is reducing pain, redness, and inflammation after procedures. That is the exact job.

What I noticed on my own face: day one looked like day three normally does, redness was gone by day six, and at ten weeks the texture and glow are the best maintenance result I've had. One person, one cycle. I have no relationship with the company. I just liked what happened and kept using it.

Individual results vary. General education, not individual medical advice.

A post going around says kids with two dads turn out happier and better behaved. I'm one of the dads, which is exactly why I read the study before reposting it.

It's real: 67 gay-father families versus 67 heterosexual families in Europe, and the two-dad kids did score better on behavior. But every one of those 67 families had a child through surrogacy, which is by definition planned, screened, expensive, and late, and the comparison group was just families. Add recruitment through agencies and parent self-report by email, and what you've measured is planning, not orientation. I'd say the same thing about a study that flattered any group I belonged to, and I'd want you to.

The evidence that actually settles this is bigger and more boring. Government records on over a million Dutch children found kids of same-sex couples did slightly better in school, and the gap shrinks toward zero when you control for income and stability. Of 79 studies reviewed by Cornell, 75 found no harm, and the few that did counted any parent who had ever had a same-sex relationship as a gay parent, which mostly captured kids of divorced straight marriages.

And the variable that makes some of our kids thrive, being wanted on purpose by adults who show up, is available to every family reading this.

Our first family vacation ended up being just the two of us. He was two, born in 2020, and the trip that was supposed to be everyone became me, a toddler, and six hours of desert to San Diego. I looked at that drive like it was an operation I'd never done. It turned out to be the best time either of us had ever had, so we kept going. Years of weekend trips later, it's just what we do.

Here's the part the research adds, and it stings: he's going to forget that first trip. Kids who describe events at age three remember about two-thirds of them at 5 to 7 and about a third by 8 or 9. He was two, so his odds are worse. But what survives childhood amnesia isn't the itinerary. It's the felt sense that someone kept showing up. The research on father involvement, on experiences over things, and on what adults name as their happiest memories all points the same direction.

He won't remember the first one. It's the reason there was a second.

Trip planning is a two-dad operation. Suitcases, sunscreen, tickets, express passes, cabana, snacks. The kids' contribution was an alibi.
