The Beaded Turtle

I finally did the hoops! These are 3" large hoops with size 11° charlotte cut beads. Not bad for my first piece after having eye surgery.

I'm looking forward to participating in the event with many other O'odham artists. I'm excited to see the artwork and fashion show, and I think it will be a fantastic experience.

Things I've made for upcoming Easter events! They are so cute and make great "prize eggs".

I'm here tomorrow and I'm thrilled to showcase my creations. Valentine's Day will be here before you know it, so grab something nice for those special people in your life.

We have Navajo Tea back in stock here at Shush Diné Native Shop

We hope to see you come out this weekend! 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️

Experiencing the use of food insecurity as a weapon of control by the government is nothing new to First Nations in America. They destroyed our food systems, then forced us to rely on government rations.
So before you mock Native people for “depending on the government,” remember that dependency was created through genocide. You can’t take everything from a people, then shame them for surviving. We didn’t “fail” to be self-sufficient, the system was built to make sure we couldn’t be.
Yet here we are, still surviving and doing our best to rebuild food sovereignty. Food is medicine and access to healthy food is a human right.
