Happy belated birthday to this legend who will still wrap my hands even though she thinks it's appalling that I don't like to do it myself. πŸ€¦πŸ½β€β™€οΈπŸ˜¬

πŸ“Scottsdale, AZ >> Megaformer Pilates >> Friday 10am >> I try to make it to a megaformer class in every city I visit, so naturally was on the top of my list when I was in Arizona earlier this month. I was stoked when I saw ’s name on the schedule, since I took his class in LA last year and absolutely loved it. He is amazing - super hands on with corrections, ensuring that you really get the most out of each exercise with proper form but also pushing yourself as much as possible. You can tell that I’m not the only one that thinks rules by all the other ladies in the class that stick around after class to chat with him. πŸ‘―

Having taken ’s Supraformer class in LA, I wasn’t that surprised when this class kicked my butt. His classes are super challenging but he does it with a smile and somehow manages to make the time go by quickly.πŸ˜… studio is nicely spaced out and airy, with plenty of parking and some healthy food options nearby - always a plus! is so so friendly and welcoming, and one of the best megaformer instructors out there. To my Arizona peeps (and anyone visiting!) - you don’t know how lucky you are, and you should take advantage and go try his class!πŸ™ŒπŸ™Œ

πŸ“NYC >> Reformer >> Tuesday 730pm >> I headed to a few weeks ago for 's reformer class. The beautiful & cozy flatiron studio comfortably holds 6 reformers. Le Call is super welcoming and there's a real casual family vibe in the studio. You can tell that basically all her clients are regulars- always a good sign! It also didn't hurt that brought his adorable new Frenchie puppy to class. Definitely a first! 🐢🐢🐢

You can tell that is quite passionate about Pilates. She did a great job at adjusting everyone to get the most out of the workout at all fitness levels. I find that standard reformer classes are generally not that difficult and geared more towards increasing flexibility and less about getting a tough workout, but other than the megaformer this was def the toughest Pilates class I've taken. I love that she pushed me to try harder spring loads and I really worked up a sweat. πŸ’§πŸ‘Œ

πŸ“NYC >> Exhilarate with >> Sunday 1030am >> Dear UES and LIC, if you don’t already go to , you should. They have spin karaoke for goodness sake! is one of my OG followers and I finally got off my ass and made it up to the UES location with to take her class. πŸ™Œ I don’t go uptown for many people, but Amanda is worth it! This particular class was karaoke - meaning the songs played were requested by the people in the class ahead of time and singing along was strongly encouraged. (Think Spice girls, BSB, Bon Jovi, Biggie, etc.)πŸ‘ŒπŸ‘Œ If you’re looking for a high energy instructor with great dance moves and a super fun class, you’ve found the place.πŸ’―

I love the design of the Upper East Side studio. The bikes are set up in 3 rows stadium style (with the back row the highest) but all in a straight line, so everyone can easily see themselves in the mirror - great to check your form!πŸ’πŸ½ Amanda incorporated a lot of bike choreography but also did a bunch of tough hill climbs, resulting in a very well balanced class. She’s so entertaining and encouraging that the hour seriously flew by and and I were both shocked it was already done.😯 I’m dying to head back soon for one of their themed rides! is an absolute gem of a human, and you’re really missing out if you don’t head to and go meet her. πŸ’ͺ

πŸ“YVR >> Intermediate with and .0 >> Sunday 11am >> There are a few studios that I make a point of always visiting every single time I’m in town, and is at the top of that list. and .0 are not only exceptional human beings but top notch trainers as well. After doing a private session with this particular Sunday morning I decided I should try the intermediate class for the first time an hour later. πŸ˜…Unfortunately was out of town, but the rest of the Vancouver SweatScale team ( & ) came along to the class too! πŸ’ͺβ˜ΊοΈπŸ‘Š

This class is no walk in the park. I hadn’t done a group class at in a while, and wow it’s definitely a jump from the beginner class to the intermediate. I would strongly suggest coming with a friend for your first time taking the intermediate class so that you can do partner work with someone at your level. I really liked how and .0 gave us a bit of everything. A solid dynamic warm up, lots of partner pad work, heavy bag combos, and some core work to top it off. You will not only leave the class super sweaty but they really hit all the muscle groups, making it a great full body workout. It’s not new news that I’m a huge fan of , but my vancouver people - you have no idea how lucky you are to have these two in your city. Take advantage. πŸ‘ŒπŸ‘Š

πŸ“YVR >> Hot Power Restore with >> Saturday 12pm >> When you see the name of one of your ex teammates when browsing , you obviously sign up immediately. I hadn’t seen in years and was stoked to take a class from her at . I love and it was the perfect thing for that particular day because I was coming straight from a spin class and was definitely in need of a good flow and stretch. The Oxygen studios keep their classes hot with infrared heating which I love. Infrared heating penetrates a lot deeper, therefore releasing more toxins than your standard hot yoga class. One thing to note - they charge for mats and towels at the studio so try to bring these things yourself to avoid the extra cost. And you will definitely be needing a towel, trust me.

The Hot Power Restore class at is a 1.5 hour class which is half vinyasa flow and half restorative yoga, and it rules. You can expect to work pretty hard for the first half of class, get some great solid stretches in in the second half, sweat buckets, and then finish off with an amazing and well earned savasana. is an unreal instructor, and I’m not saying this because I went to high school with her. She is clearly super knowledgeable and passionate about the body and fitness, she is very hands-on throughout the class even though everyone is drenched in sweat (props to you Christine), and she does it all with a huge smile on her face. It’s always a treat when you can tell that your instructor is stoked to be there teaching you, and that’s definitely the case with . I will definitely be heading back to another one of her classes next time I’m in town and I would suggest you do too!

πŸ“YVR >> Parkinson’s Boxing >> Friday 1030am >> After connecting with both and on instagram ages and ages ago, I was finally in town on one of the days that Allie had a class in Vancouver. I headed down to to volunteer and find out what the class was all about. It happened to be a great day to stop by because the class was super full and CTV happened to be there shooting a piece as well. (You can check out the segment using the link in ’s bio) I got to hold pads for a few participants working on punching combos, and damn they really work hard. It’s so humbling to see how motivated and driven everyone in the class was, and it's something I will keep in mind next time I’m tempted to half-ass anything!

Parkinson's is unique in that exercise=medicine, as it's the only thing that can delay the progression of the disease. I love how Allie has made the class super customizable to work for a variety of different fitness levels and strengths, as well as clients at varying stages in their fight with Parkinson’s. Helping out at was the most inspiring/humbling thing I’ve done through SweatScale and something I hope to do more of in the future! If you would like to volunteer with either or then shoot them a DM and let them know you’re interested! If you have a friend or family member who could benefit from this class, visit www.rocksteadyboxing.org and find the nearest affiliate - they’re all over the nation and it’s a really amazing program!
