I hope this info is helpful to any racers that are not familiar with how things work and what to expect.

These are the classes that AZ Flattrack Racing typically run at each track that they race at.

All classes are subject to being combined with a similar class if the entry number is low.
But they are scored separately and awards are presented accordingly.

Each class gets Hot Laps (practice) according to a pre assigned group number that is listed on the sign in sheet, so riders should make note of their assigned group number.

Note: Heat and Main running orders do NOT follow the Hot Lap group numbers.

Heat and Main running orders are determined at each race based on the number of entries in each class and whether or not any classes get combined.

Riders should check and make note of the night’s running order to ensure that they are in staging in a timely manner and don’t miss their race.

If you try to message me and get an automated response, that’s old and I haven’t been able to figure out how to remove it.

The email address no longer works, but the phone number that’s listed is still good.

Desert West Speedway Kingman, Az.

I had a nice phone conversation this morning with the track owner Lyle.

He called to reassure me that he made note of all of the complaints and problems from their inaugural race last Saturday and that he is already working on plans to address them.

Of major note was the deterioration of the track surface that caused the motorcycles to cancel their main events.
He plans to address this issue with the addition of more clay to form a more stable base, and by Not running the motorcycles on a program with the cars.

He also plans to widen the 1/5th mile track turns, and adjusting the banking to provide for better racing.

All while work on finishing the 3/8th mile track is still going forward.

Another issue was the extremely long line and wait to get a pit pass.

A lot of the problem was related to processing all most 300 pit passes, and the large number of minor release forms that had to be filled out.
In the future the release form will be available on their website so that parents don’t hold up the line while they fill one out.

Additionally he will be adding more windows to the pit pass booth and opening it earlier.

This was their first race, and things were learned that require their attention.
And I have confidence that Lyle will do his best to address them.
