Meet Sal and Rosie: two adorable dogs that were adopted from us as puppies seven long years ago. They lived happily with their “parents”; spending their days lounging on sofas, playing in the yard, enjoying each other’s company, and being spoiled rotten every day. It was just the kind of life we want every dog to have! ♥️ Sadly, about two years ago, tragedy struck and their human mom passed away. Their dad thought he was going to have to leave the house and was heartbroken at the thought of giving up his two dogs. Thankfully, he was able to stay and Sal and Rosie were able to help their dad with the loss of his wife. Unfortunately, tragedy has struck again and Rosie and Sal’s dad is in now in home-hospice. His only child is unable to take the dogs so they are forced to come back to us where they’ll have to live in a shelter for the first time ever. It's absolutely heartbreaking!

Sal and Rosie need your help! They are already losing both of the people they have known and loved their entire lives. Being forced to live in a shelter environment, even a small one like ours, is going to be hard on these two senior dogs. Which is why we would love for them to go into a foster home - together if possible. They have both been good with other dogs and with children. They're completely housebroken, are well behaved indoors, and are pretty easy, low-maintenance dogs. Rosie (a Labrador/Ridgeback mix) is a bit more active; while Sal (a Staffordshire Terrier mix) is a bit of a couch-potato. Both of these dogs deserve to spend the rest of their lives in a loving home. If you think you could possibly give Sal and Rosie a temporary, or even permanent, home or know someone who may be able to help, please text Director Toni at 602-686-4158. Sal and Rosie are running out of time at their house and we need to act fast. PLEASE HELP! 🚨‼️♥️ 07/23/2026

Scottsdale animal rescue groups call for volunteers as shelter hits full capacity 06/14/2026

It's bad in Phoenix for dogs- the surge in dogs needing homes is an epidemic.

Going into the 4th of July when always at max capacity puts all dogs at risk - of being euthanized due to lack of space

Dogs that end up spending months and years at no kill shelters - is also hard for dogs

Often over looked are bigger dogs, dogs over 6, dogs that won't shine until they leave the shelter environment - imagine us being in a small room for long periods of time. The freedom rides and smiles on dogs is a real thing

Please if you can

***Foster, this gives shelters and rescues space to save more homeless dogs on the streets. The desert heat is placing a strain on these dogs

**Donate- this helps groups with ability to provide medical care and items needed

**Volunteer - always needed

**Share - this saves lives more than many know - someone not aware sees a post of a dog that speaks to them. They may not realize it until a photo of a dog reaches their heart

Jake the dog ... Toms baby

🐾🐶🙌💙👲🚒

We need more news like THIS!!

Thank you CBS News On the Road with Steve Hartman

Fort Worth, Texas — Fire Station 8 in Fort Worth, Texas, is what is called a "safe baby site," a place where desperate parents can leave a baby they are unable to care for.

Earlier this month, a little one was left right at the base of the fire station's flagpole: a dog named Jake.

Accompanying Jake was a note that read, "His name is Jake…If you really care about helping babies, please help my baby."
