U.S.VETS is the largest non-profit organization with boots on the ground to combat America’s veteran homeless crisis head-on. Its holistic approach delivers intervention and prevention services, including housing, mental health and career programs, and wraparound services. The organization operates residential and service sites nationwide with the mission of preventing and ending veteran homelessness, including a Phoenix location, the region's largest residential provider. For 24 years, nationally recognized U.S.VETS Phoenix has served more than 1,300 veterans and family members annually, supporting veterans facing homelessness, domestic violence, military sexual trauma and other barriers to care.

After months of living outside in the desert heat, this Marine Veteran and his loyal companion, Ringo, are starting a new chapter. We’re so grateful to be a part of their journey and celebrate this fresh start with them.

They graduated with fully-stocked toolkits—bright red bags stuffed with new equipment and also skills gained to enter construction jobs. Last week, we celebrated nine veterans at U.S.VETS Phoenix who completed a pilot training program with credentials to excel in the industry.
Our partnership with the Home Builders Institute - HBI BuildStrong Academy Phoenix, supported by The Home Depot Foundation and Wells Fargo, brought the training to veterans through a program focused on skilled trades instruction. All earned industry-recognized certifications and made connections with potential future employers, with ongoing support from U.S.VETS’ career services team.
From the classroom to the jobsite, these veterans are now better equipped for in-demand careers built to last.
