Our Phoenix Pipe Band Grade 5 earned 1st Place in both the MSM and Quick March events at the Northern Arizona Celtic Heritage Society Festival this weekend, receiving first-place rankings from every adjudicator and capturing the Overall Aggregate Award!
Congratulations to our grade 5 band for an incredible season finisher and special congratulations to Patrick, who won the Kitchen Piping event and was named Grade 2 Piper of the Day.
It was an honor for our Pipe Major Jeff Anderson, who coordinated this year’s Arizona Highland Celtic Festival piping events, to present the aggregate band trophy to our Grade 5 Pipe Major, Mike.
Looking ahead, several of our Grade 5 pipers are moving up to our Grade 3 band in 2027 and we’re excited to welcome new players into our teaching program. If you’ve ever wanted to learn the Great Highland bagpipe or drums or you’re looking to get back into playing, we’d love to hear from you. Send us a message and join the Phoenix Pipe Band family!
We’re Chicago bound!
This weekend we head to Naperville, IL for our third contest of the season and the largest Grade 3 lineup we’ve faced so far with 13 bands in the field. It’s another exciting opportunity for the band to come together, perform, and keep building momentum.

What a weekend for the Phoenix Pipe Band at Scottish Fest USA in Costa Mesa! 🔥
Grade 3 brought the heat with back-to-back ties for 3rd and landed 4th overall after ensemble marks — so close, but we’re feeling stronger than ever heading into Chicago next month.
Grade 5 had a fantastic weekend too, with several of our youngest pipers taking home individual awards. Huge shoutout to Aaron, our youngest piper, for winning the Grade 4 aggregate! 👏
Massive thanks to everyone who played, traveled, cheered us on, and brought the good vibes all weekend long. Proud of this band and the momentum we’re building.
We’ll drop a Grade 3 medley video in the comments 👀
Next stop: Chicago!

One last lineup before our fifth and final convocation performance this week, this time at Mountain America Stadium, Tempe, AZ. This one never gets old and continues to be one of our favorites.
Grateful for the opportunity to be part of such a meaningful moment for so many engineering graduates and families.
Check out the comments for a great field-level perspective. Our drummer Tyler captured the procession on his Meta glasses and it puts you right in the middle of it.
Hot one in Phoenix for the The University of Arizona College of Medicine – Phoenix convocation☀️
Processional from the Phoenix Convention Center to the Orpheum Theatre, then piping graduates into the ceremony. Congratulations to the new physicians!

Mini band performing at Desert Financial Arena for two Arizona State University College of Engineering convocations today - two ceremonies down (9am and 2pm) and one more at Mountain America Stadium, Tempe, AZ on Thursday.
This kicks off a full week supporting graduates across both Arizona State University and University of Arizona. Grateful for the continued support and the opportunity to be part of these milestones.
Thank you to the The Las Vegas Celtic Society for a great weekend. Ed Best and Scottish Drum Lessons were instrumental in helping us tie for first with this medley (1,2,2,1) with the win going to our friends at Kevin R. Blandford Memorial Pipe Band on ensemble preference. See everyone at Scottish Fest in Costa Mesa.

The Phoenix Pipe Band was proud to appear this morning on Good Morning Arizona on AZFamily! ☀️
During the segment, we highlighted our nonprofit mission to preserve and promote Celtic music and pipe band traditions across Arizona and the Southwest. Several of our talented teenage members performed live, showcasing the next generation of pipers and drummers in our program.
Youth music education is at the heart of what we do, and we were proud to share that mission with viewers this morning. Great job to our youth performers! 🎶 Video in comments.
