What do you see when the children leave the art table?

When there is weather besides hot sunshine in Arizona...we run to get outside!! The children loved exploring all the muddy puddles the rains brought today.

Our Pre-K students enjoyed building bridges last week.🌉 They incorporated the tale of The Three Billy Goats Gruff. 🐐This storytelling adventure lasted all week. The days were filled with bridge provocations and a full on production at the end of the week with homemade masks and a very grumpy old troll. 🎭

July Celebrations 🎉

🌱Our youngest learners, The Sprouts, painted with blueberries! We noticed the Sprouts mushing blueberries with tongs and their hands to create a liquid to make paint Some other Sprouts mixed them up in cups and poured them on the paper. Most Sprouts eventually used their mouth to explore the taste of blueberries and found that far more exciting than painting with them. 🫐

The Berry Patch practiced serving themselves during lunch! 🍽️💚

Using serving spoons, they carefully scooped their own mac and cheese and peas onto their plates, building confidence and independence with every scoop.

Family-style dining is about so much more than sharing a meal. It helps children:
✨ Develop fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination
✨ Build independence and confidence through self-serving
✨ Practice patience and taking turns
✨ Strengthen social skills by using polite phrases like, “Can you pass me the bowl, please?”
✨ Learn to recognize hunger and fullness cues while making their own food choices
✨ Foster a sense of community as everyone shares the meal together

We love watching them grow into confident, capable little learners—one meal at a time! 💜🍓

🎨Our Veggie artists explored paint in an unconventional way. With our paper placed on the floor, the veggies made their way to the paint tray, dipping their toes in! They found that the paint was cold and slippery, many needing to find balance while placing their feet in the tray. Some holding on to each other to keep from falling!👣
