Pretty surreal moment.

I was invited and flown out to Washington, D.C. to talk about something I care deeply about: how we make recovery housing better.

How do we eliminate fraud, protect taxpayer dollars and vulnerable people, while making sure legitimate recovery housing can continue doing what it was created to do, help people rebuild their lives.

I put our experience into a paper:

“Ending Recovery Housing Fraud Without Ending Recovery Housing.”

The people doing this work every day need to have a voice in how we fix it.

Being invited to D.C. to be part of that conversation is something I’m incredibly grateful for.

Last week, we had the incredible privilege of brining music & ministry to approximately 150 men at Florence West Prison. We got to sing some songs from Blake’s album, share our stories, and pray with hundreds of men who are just like us. At Formerly Intoxicated, “Redemption Is Real” isn’t just a slogan—it’s our testimony. We’ve lived it. We’ve seen lives restored, families reunited, and hope return where it once seemed impossible. Our prayer is simple: that the seeds planted during this visit continue to grow, bringing healing, purpose, and lasting transformation. Thank you to everyone who supports our mission through prayers, encouragement, generosity, and belief that second chances matter. Because of you, we’re able to bring hope into places that often feel forgotten.
