A common symptom of post traumatic stress disorder. Unfortunately it's a coping mechanism we revert to but it's not beneficial. It actually worsens symptoms in the long run. I can attest to this.

It's hard though… triggers are everywhere. Coping skills are available but feeling safe is a struggle. I'm truly sorry to those that I've isolated myself from in the last several months. When I'm under lots of stress I can't help it.
