A radio station run by current and former first responders recently held a 24-hour live broadcast to help break the stigma around PTSD and depression.
The 24-Hour DJ Marathon is getting very real.
Guests are lined up.
Sponsors are stepping up.
The schedule is filling in.
And in just a few days, we’ll be going live for 24 straight hours on The Thin Line Rock Station.
This thing started as an idea and has quickly turned into something a lot bigger than us.
A huge thank you to everyone helping make this happen — the sponsors, supporters, guests, listeners, and everyone sharing the event and spreading the word.
We’ll have humor, stories, controlled chaos, honest conversations, games, sleep deprivation, and a whole lot of first responder culture packed into one long shift on-air.
Tune in May 21–22 and hear from some incredible guests including:

Mental health gets a month.
Most first responders get about 5 minutes to talk about it—if that.
So we’re doing something different.
On May 21–22, we’re going live for 24 straight hours.
No scripts.
No filters.
No clocking out.
Just real conversations about the job, the weight that comes with it, and the things we don’t always say out loud.
There will be humor (much of it dark).
There will be honest moments.
There will be guests who’ve lived through things most people can’t imagine.
And yeah—there will be some chaos too.
This isn’t about making mental health a headline.
It’s about making it normal.

Everyone says it in the interview:
“I want to help people.”
It sounds noble.
It also avoids the question.
What, exactly, counts as help…
when the right action causes pain?

You’re not behind.
You’re just looking up.
In this week’s Midweek Mindfulness, we unpack that quiet pressure so many of us carry — the feeling that we should be further along by now.
As first responders, we see how hard life can get.
We walk into it every shift.
And yet… we’re not immune to comparison.
The bigger house.
The better paycheck.
The life that seems more “on track.”
So why, even with everything we’ve seen… do we still feel like it’s not enough?
This episode breaks down the psychology behind that feeling — and how a simple shift in attention can change everything.

The call doesn’t start with sirens.
It starts with a voice.
Before the scene is secured, before units arrive, before anyone lays eyes on the problem…
someone is already in it—listening, organizing, steadying the moment.
The first first responders.
