Today, we celebrated two milestones years in the making. 🏡

Trellis has closed out our portion of Arizona is Home, Gov. Katie Hobbs' down payment assistance program, and completed Phase One of the Garfield Infill Project, with the first three homes built and two already sold to AIH buyers.

As Trellis President & CEO Brenda Lopez put it: "Affordable housing doesn't happen through any one solution alone. It takes layered support, thoughtful development paired with resources like Arizona is Home, to actually get families through the door. This milestone is proof that when those pieces come together, we can turn the promise of homeownership into something real for Arizona families."

Today, Trellis celebrated a major milestone in the Garfield Neighborhood: the closing of the first home sold in our Garfield development! 🏡🎉

This home represents what’s possible when community partners come together to create pathways to affordable homeownership. We’re grateful to the Arizona Community Foundation, RDF, and the City of Phoenix, AZ USA for their partnership and investment in making this home possible.

This closing is especially meaningful because it also represents the use of the last of the Arizona Is Home funds, Governor Katie Hobbs amazing down payment assistance program, reserved for these newly constructed homes—turning critical community investment into a lasting opportunity for homeownership.

Congratulations to our newest homeowner! We’re proud to celebrate this milestone and the continued transformation taking place in Garfield.

During this comprehensive, all-day class, participants will learn:

• The advantages and responsibilities of owning a home
• How to assess their financial readiness
• The homebuying process from start to finish
• How much home they can afford
• The roles of lenders, realtors, inspectors, and other key members of the homebuying team

This class has a $99 value and fulfills the HUD Homebuyer Education requirement for many homeownership assistance programs.
Breakfast and lunch will be provided.
