𝗦𝗼𝗺𝗲𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲𝘀 𝘀𝘂𝗿𝘃𝗶𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗳𝗶𝗿𝗲 𝗶𝘀 𝗼𝗻𝗹𝘆 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗯𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴.
I told Dawn something during this conversation that stayed with me.

After experiencing homelessness herself and finally escaping it, she could have walked away from that chapter forever.

Instead, she picked up the broken pieces of that experience, melted them in the fire, molded them into armor, and went back in to help pull other people out.

Her response was simple:

“𝗜𝘁’𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗱𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗜’𝘃𝗲 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗱𝗼𝗻𝗲.”

That is what makes this story so powerful.

HELP NOW Arizona did not come from theory. It came from lived experience, pain, responsibility, and the decision to turn survival into service.

I am proud to support this mission, and I hope more of us will step forward.

A lost job. A medical emergency. Rent going up. A car breaking down. One unexpected situation can push a family from barely holding on to suddenly needing help.

And sometimes the hardest part is admitting how serious the situation has become.

That is where organizations like HELP NOW Arizona matter.

They are not just talking about homelessness. They are reaching families before things get worse and connecting them with meaningful resources, support, and a path forward.

Sometimes preventing homelessness starts with reaching people before they lose everything.

HELP NOW Arizona started with Dawn and her husband working out of their garage.

Today, the organization is creating impact month after month by helping families with food, school supplies, basic needs, mentorship, and community support.

That is what happens when someone sees a problem and decides to do something about it.

One family helping another family can eventually become an entire community helping thousands.

In this conversation, Dawn Marie from HELP NOW Arizona shares a reality many people never see.

She says 1 in 5 children in our community may be facing hunger, homelessness, or another at risk situation.

These are not distant statistics.
𝗧𝗵𝗲𝘆 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗸𝗶𝗱𝘀 𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝗮𝗺𝗲 𝗰𝗹𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗿𝗼𝗼𝗺𝘀, 𝘄𝗮𝗹𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝗮𝗺𝗲 𝗵𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘄𝗮𝘆𝘀, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗴𝗿𝗼𝘄𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘂𝗽 𝗮𝗹𝗼𝗻𝗴𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗲 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗼𝘄𝗻 𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗿𝗲𝗻.

That is why awareness matters.

And awareness should lead to action.

Sometimes a few words can help fill the heart too.

This is the kind of work more people and businesses need to know about.

This Kentucky Derby inspired evening will bring together businesses, community leaders, supporters and people who believe families facing homelessness and crisis deserve more than sympathy. They deserve resources, stability and hope.

Cocktail hour, live music, dinner, silent and live auctions, and most importantly, an opportunity to support the work HELP Now AZ is doing throughout our community.

Even if you cannot be in the room, you can still be part of the mission.

It gives businesses a chance to show their employees, customers and community what they actually value.

Service. Generosity. Connection. Community.
